18 Wheels of Steel: Pedal to the Metal Reviews

It has lots of trucks, and lots of cargos. This is a great game. I have been playing this for three years. I have figured out that every time you deliver three trailers, you get a new truck. AWESOME.

The roads texture is must different and looks more like real roads. About the laws. This I think is a bad move. If you can read a map or road signs then you shouldn't be driving. To guide you on your way there is an arrow overhead telling you where you should be going. The slicked up ones can get away from you really fast and are much harder to control. Watching the motorcycle sail is a hoot.

It doesn't move when you decide to go postal. On this version you get to cross the border to Mexico which is a nice touch. If all you have played is the original version of 18 wheels, then this version will be more fun. Tell me about a trucker that has an arrow outside his cab telling where where to go. The Exits are another matter. Too bad. With this version, its the same game in principle but this time you are told what loads to take and where. This compares Pedal to the Metal against the original version Across America.

No more Cloverleafs; they are hard right and left turns which means you have to be really careful about your speed of you are going to rack up damage for sure. Trouble is that the cop car is like a brick wall. Actually I prefer the more doggy trucks. Even the loading dock down south is much cruder sort of reflecting a poorer country. Most are enforced at the drop of a hat except for Red Lights.

I don't, for it gives you an opportunity to master the controls and earn a better truck. Many a time I have sailed through a town running every red light in the place with no penalty and I have enjoyed running down all sorts of traffic and road signs. Many people complain about the dog trucks in the beginning on various versions. The original was fine but it got boring after awhile. If you are going to get a ticket you might as well see the cop car get smashed up too.

She totally loves to play it. You pick up orders and deliver them, stop for gas, you chose the route you want to take. You drive a semi truck acrossed North America. I got this game for my 11 daughter.

Highly recommend. Got this game for my 14 year old son for his birthday and cannot get him off the computer now. My 10 year old daughter is also loving it.

Finally had to order a different CD directly from manufacturer because Amazon was unable to acquire it. Never received game; Had previously downloaded it from manufacturer's site, wanted CD for child's birthday.
