Apple iPod Dock for iPod nano 2G

Like all iPod Docks, the iPod nano Dock enables quick connectivity if you have a desktop computer without an easily accessible USB 2.0 port. No more reaching behind the computer to plug it in - just place iPod nano in the dock and it's ready to sync with iTunes and charge its battery. And you can plug a stereo mini cable to its line-out port and enjoy a clean, direct connection to a stereo or powered speakers.

Apple iPod Dock for iPod nano 2G Reviews

For example, I noticed that sometimes the iPod may not make contact with it, so you have to make sure it's pushed in all the way, but even then, sometimes you have to unplug it and try again. The iPod Dock is good, but has a few flaws. Also, you can't put an iPod on there if it has a skin and/or cover on it; you'd have to take it/them off in order to do so. Otherwise, it keeps the iPod standing up and charges it at the same time, so that's an upside.

The price is higher than I expect for an ipod nano stand, but you need to pay a premium since Apple makes the stand. The ipod nano fits perfect as long as you don't have a cover on your ipod nano. You can get a cheaper one from another company, but it won't be made by Apple and may not have the same fit with your ipod nano. It's a solid stand that has a rubber pad to keep it from moving around. It is what the advertisement says.

That's it. I had no idea that the dock would have to be bought seperately and I thought it came with the iPod Nano. Yet, I thought now would be a good opportunity to actually experience the iPod mania that tremendously boosted Apple's reputation. But it really adds a nice touch-up to the desk, especially if you own an Apple computer or laptop like the MacBook. All cords needed will be the ones that came with the Nano: the USB cord and the recharge-wire (Also, the Nano cannot be interacted while it's on the dock unless you eject it from the machine. A dock certainly is a goodidea as it not only keeps you iPod safe but it also recharges it.

So I had to listen to my music blaring out of plugged-in headphones which I set on my desk. I had a deafening experience last night as I inserted my headphone cord into this line. iTunes, and the overall volume on my laptop). This is because it would be syncing music or photos and would interfere with the process).

This was the only problem I really experienced with the dock. Apple has also been considerate and put in a line at the back (beside the recharge port). She was the Apple fanatic and I the Windows worshipper. I recommend the speakers that are inserted into this line have a volume knob on them, because the music coming out will really be ridiculously loud. I could hear the music, almost fine.

But I've heard that the Nano has to be very well taken care of to last more than its one year life expectancy. Volume is on high and it cannot be changed (I tried the volume setting on the iPod. You can choose to plug in your headphones or your speaker set (the ones with the similar outlet), but be warned. My friend gave me a 2nd generation iPod Nano. Like all Apple's out-of-the-box experience, the dock is neatly packed and comes with a warranty and a manual.

I bought this dock, mostly to plug the ipod into my speakers, but the sound quality is awful, besides you can't control the volume from the ipod.

This Apple iPod Dock is very small & convenient, and is especially great for traveling. It DOES NOT come with a plug-in outlet charger, so you'll need to purchase that separately if you wish to charge your iPod without connecting it to your computer. I purchased one for a couple of bucks, and it (along with the dock) works great.
