Apple iPod Lanyard Headphones for iPod nano 2G (White) Reviews
great product, no long wires hanging down to get caught on something, i bought 4 so i could have extras.
A good bit of my purchase decision for a Nano was based on seeing my friends with their 1G Nanos on lanyards like this. For the 1G Nano, you have the option of Griffin's TuneBud lanyard (if you can find it now that it's out of production), but for the 2G Nano, you're stuck with Apple's solution. They do not fit my ears and cause my ears to hurt from the fit. I still use this product, but only because there's nothing better out there. I've never had a problem with it coming disconnected unintentionally. It'd be nice if it came in black, but the ubiquitous Apple white isn't too shabby.
Based on the date of my purchase and my size needs, I ended up with the 8GB Black Nano 2G. The lanyard itself is great. It seems like a no-brainer for Apple (or someone) to re-make this lanyard with a 3.5mm jack passthrough so that you could use your own headphones with it. The earbuds are terrible, however. Nonetheless, we're on 3G Nanos now, and there still hasn't been an improvement here. It's stylish, especially when combined with a slick looking skin. The only other 2G Nano lanyard option I've found (short of DIY) is the Rivet Grab case and lanyard combo, but that adds bulk and weight to the Nano, plus it doesn't work as well if you have a decorative skin on your Nano.
It's practically standard these days for earbuds in this price range to come with multiple sized attachments, for fit customization, but Apple hasn't bothered with that feature for any of their earbuds yet.
Decided that the 4th replacement was the last. Wouldn't be so bad if they weren't so expensive to start out with. Maybe that's why they don't make them for the new 3G version. GREAT idea, but so poorly made that they only last about 4-6 months before they break (one side or the other looses sound). Cheaply made, too fragile for constant use. Too bad Apple can't get these right.
I don't know what generation it does fit, but it was certainly not made for my Ipod. It is not designed with the proper spacing. Unfortunately, this product does not fit the Ipod Nano 3g.
Very Disappointed do not reccommend 2nd generation lanyard at all. Purchased lanyard worked for two weeks before one side failed.
