Apple iPod touch 16 GB with Software Upgrade Reviews
If you went to Apple's website, possibly you would be able to buy an Ipod touch with the new software upgrade but I'm betting that the price will be somewhat higher. It is true that the Ipod touch is the most expensive out of all MP3 players but it's very sleek, easy to handle, easy to download songs on, and for anyone who likes to surf the internet or check their email; this is an outstanding product. Amazon had the lowest price and my Ipod works like a charm. Itunes was a little slow to install but I think that it's just my anti-virus software that is holding things up. Please be aware that it all depends on what the supplier has.
Out of the box, it was easy to set up. I purchased this model late Tuesday night and was able to get a $10 discount and free super saver shipping. I recieved it today. Setting up an itunes account was easy and synchonizing my ipod was a sinch.
Many people were complaining that they didn't get the software upgrade they were expecting- 2.0. I new that the super saver shipping would delay me having the Ipod in my hand but Amazon has been terrific when it comes to shipping. This might drive some people crazy, as for me, I just grunt or shrug my shoulders. Going through all the programs that are pre-loaded is easy. As I said before, the picture quality is amazing. Sure enough, the expected arrival date was between July 28th-August 1st.
In Amazon's case, they probably still have the 1.1's. I was aware that version 2.0 came out and I wasn't expecting my ipod touch to have it. It's time for me to put my cd's on my Ipod ( I did a few; it's easy). I have a lot of cd's and time and time again they get scratched and repeat or don't play at all. Enjoy. Very annoying.
Not bad with free shipping and it ended up arriving 3 full days after I ordered it. This is an amazing piece of harware. My wife and I love to eat at Panera Bread which has Wi-Fi. The only minus is that the metal underneath the nice screen easily can be covered with fingerprints.
I haven't seen any reviewer say that they just bought their Ipod touch and it has version 2.0. I also bought this in preperation for my new car that has Microsoft Sync with an MP3 player jack. Wi-Fi is a very nice inclusion and the ability to check your email is fantastic. It would depend on when Apple ships out the Ipod touch with the new software upgrade.
The touch screen is very sleek and responds gently to your touch. The box does come with a cloth so; no problem. Much to my amazement also, when I ordered my ipod touch, the next day the price dropped. The picture is outstanding, the sounds are amazing, and the new programs on it are something special.
First of all, it is thinner and more solid feeling in the hand than the iPhone. I work in New York City and pretty much all my co-workers and I have a solid featured phone with decent camera (I have a Nokia N82 - 5.0MP camera with xenon flash), an ultramobile laptop, and an iPod of some type. Are people getting so lazy nowadays that they can't carry around a dedicated media player and a phone. Both of those problems are solved by getting a dedicated phone that #1) probably has a better camera (with flash) and #2) has better customization options as well as better phone functionality. flights, train, and so on.
I absolutely love this iPod touch and it fills my needs exactly what I purchased it for; to entertain me during extended down times ie. Who doesn't carry a laptop to work these days. Even if that phone happens to feature far superior phone features and camera. Just my 5 cents. Call me old fashioned, but the virtual number keypad isn't my cup of tea. I have some friends who have gotten the iPhone and those who do all envy my current configuration. The only reason why I'd recommend someone to get the iPhone over the iPod touch is if they are on a pretty thin budget and need a PDA because they can't afford an ultramobile laptop like an IBM or XPS M1330 and a decent phone with a nice camera.
Every young professional who is well-connected has the same setup. Well, since the main criticisms of the iPod touch - mainly that it is a lame-duck version of the iPhone (which is complete garbage) have been addressed, the only fact that remains is that it is by far the most attractive and feature packed media player on the market. Perfect for listening to music and entertaining oneself on subway or in flights. Second, it has all the features of the iPhone except the camera and PDA features. Obvious, isn't it. The solution for the PDA features is pretty obvious; a laptop. This is better than the iPhone.
But the Wifi is so unreliable that the apps only serve as a constant reminder of what you would like to have but can't. Save your money on this one - something more reliable will come along someday. Because it works.
I bought the iPod touch hoping to have the same results plus You Tube, Safari, etc. Reliability beats cool looks every time. So, the old lesson is learned again.
I have been using a very tired, beat up, and abused 3rd gen iPod for years now. The thing is absolutely bulletproof.
The iPod touch will go on the shelf, and I'll dig out the 3rd gen and keep using it until it dies.
It's like a personal secretary and On-star in one.not to mention a music and video player and photo album and iTunes store. I had this issue with the Nano too. Seems like such a little thing (the issue that is). When my husband encouraged me to buy the iPod touch I couldn't help but wonder why I'd pay nearly $300 for an MP3 player. Sure I can hit the back button, but, seriously, this is/was a standard feature with most every cd player so why not iPod. Just about the only complaint I have with this device is in the music mode.
(I think on a basic use level like that). Why doesn't the darn thing allow me to hit 'repeat' on a song. For one, he wanted to test it out. And for three, I keep discovering new ways to use it all the time. Overall, for those willing to spend the moneyeven if they aren't gadget geeksthey'll likely find an enjoyable personal pal in the iPod Touch. I haven't even tapped into the power it has to manage my appointments or navigate me around.
For two, it really is incredibly cool to use. I'd been perfectly happy with my iPod Nano for a couple of years, why switch.
Love it. I waited for this generation before buying and am very happy with my choice. What a great product. Elegant, simple and loaded with usable programs. thanks mac
