When an additional extension is added to an LX Desk Mount LCD Arm, weight capacity is reduced: grommet mount 18 lbs (8.1 kg), desk clamp 10 lbs (4.5 kg).

A nice, well built extension to my Ergotron LX LCD monitor-arm. and extremely strong. be aware, it does reduce the maximum weight allowed for the LCD monitor itself. Since a similar extension comes with the Arm itself, this is a second arm for some extra reach. Quality cast (aluminum). It gives that extra bit of position-ability I needed.
I would not hesitate to suggest buying this if you are getting the Erogtron LX. I bought the Ergotron desk arm and extension at the same time, so I cannot compare with and without. It is an exact copy of the include arm segment, and the addition of another segment adds 6-8" of distance. Adds ALOT of flexibility to wear you can put the LCD. However, from what I can see, having an extra extension is well worth the $25. Now I can have the Ergotron arm perched near the edge o my desk and reach out over my bed so I can watch movies in it.
