AT&T 1739 - Corded Digital Answering System Reviews
This unit is designed quite well, the only problem was my unit stopped working after only a few weeks. The unit would no longer respond to incoming calls.
We bought and returned two of these machines because they would ring but not pick up and record incoming calls. We are going to buy a different one after this return. We called ATT both times and they said to return the machines. We would definitely not recommend this machine.
Her old tape based answering machine finally stopped working and I needed to get her something very basic and simple to replace it with. Pressing the delete button after the message has played does nothing. It has only been in use a couple of days, so I can't say what the long term quality of this machine is, but initial impressions are that it is a very basic, easy to use answering machine.
Deleting messages is a little confusing for her, as you have to actually have the message playing when you press the delete button. No fancy bells or whistles, just a big button to press to play her messages. Another pro of this machine for the elderly is that it is very LOUD, the volume goes nice and high for those with hearing loss.
This answering machine is just that. Set up was easy with the directions included - I did that part for her. I bought this answering machine for my 86 year old grandmother.
Received within a few days of ordering. Easy use for elderly and screens out unknown callers. Easy set up. Recommend for anyone looking for a basic answering machine.
ps lots of record time. (I hate to read directions). jer. We don't have to get up & pick the phone up if we don't know or want to talk to the caller. the caller ID pre-announce we need not hear the voice. Was a bit reluctant to get a 90's answering machine but with.
. Would get another star but it is a little counter-intuitive to program. I have not seen this in 2K phones.
