AT&T 993 Corded 2-Line Speakerphone
AT&T Corded 2-Line Speakerphone
The AT&T 993 Corded 2-Line Speakerphone is perfect for a small business that needs a telephone that supports two lines. You can make and receive calls by using the keypad and Speakerphone in the base station. The phone's three-party conferencing lets you conduct business with three people conversing together on three different lines. Automatic line selection means that when the phone is ringing and you pick up, you will be connected to the one that is ringing. You can also set up different ringtones for each of the lines. A large display provides easy-to-read text for setup and caller information. The phone has a 100-entry memory and a 99-name-and-number caller ID history. Numbers stored in the caller ID history can be dialed directly; and with call waiting-capable caller ID, you can see who is calling even when you are already on the line. If you subscribe to a voicemail service, a red light blinks when you have voicemail waiting. For hands-free operation, the 2.5-millimeter jacks lets you connect a headset.

AT&T 993 Corded 2-Line Speakerphone Reviews
I purchased this phone for a home business. Callers cannot hear me when I am on speakerphone (although I can hear them fine). The backlighting of the display (where you see caller ID, etc) stopped working early on in the life of the product, and the display itself is muddied and impossible to read without that backlighting. I called AT&T and getting the phone repaired or replaced would have been such a hassle that I never went through with it. They put up a lot of barriers to getting it replaced--the biggest being I would have to send it in on my own dime and that I would have to be without the phone as they had to get the old one back before sending out a new one. That's not how it should work!
I thought long and hard shopping for a two line phone. I did my homework, read the reviews and finally decided on this ATT. Am VERY PLEASED with phone, large comfortable buttons is the first thing you'll notice. The two lines light, and both lines have caller id pop up , providing you have this feature on your phone. Even when you are already on a call, line 2 will ring with phone number. I like the conference, hold and flash buttoms, all easy in addition to the speaker button which is large. THe reviews spoke of poor speaker sound, but that has not been my experience. I use a headset in addition to speaker phone. The display is large with 2 lines showing both line id's . One touch calling is very easy. Before writing on the id sheet I make a few copies, punch out the holes, and save under phone. When I have to change the names for whatever reason, I have a fresh sheet for the one touch directory. A lot of bang for the money.
Received not new in box but repackaged not once but twice. Equipment is not new from this vendor.
I must constantly redial numbers because this phone does NOT record a ten-digit number if it is dialed other than slowly. You must wait for about 15 seconds to have a recorded message tell you -- incorrectly -- that you did not dial the required 10 digits. This is incorrect because all ten digits that you dialed show up in the Caller ID screen. AT&T said they will replace the phone for $15, but it would be with another Model 993. I believe the problem is in the design and engineering of the phone and that a new unit will not correct my problem.
The AT&T 993 phone is a good deal for the price range it's in. There are alot of reviews for this phone so let me get right to the meat of it .... Pros: 1.Phone is Fast, Dials Fast, Responds Fast to commands/buttons (much faster than battery operated phones). 2.One touch Speed dials are easy to program. 3.Lighted Speaker/Mute buttons are great. 4.Call timer is displayed on the LCD. Displays how long you've been on the call. Cons: 1.LCD screens stays lit at all times, even when not on a call - this is a waste of energy. It can be turned off but then you can't see the LCD. 2.Speakerphone/Mic quality is good but not excellent. 3.No Call History log. My boss asked me what time i called the Director, I went back to my phone but there is no call log showing the date/time that calls are made.
