Utilizing the 5.8 GHz frequency and digital signal transmission, the E5600 cordless telephone creates a consistently clear connection with exceptional range and high security levels. The system is expandable to a total of eight handsets; this set includes one. The LCD screen of the handset is a full-color display that allows you to select one of 31 images as wallpaper or visual ring tone; the screen on the base is a traditional LCD that displays text information. Both screens provide access to a 50-entry phone book; with subscription to local Call Waiting Caller ID service, the screen will also display the name and number of the person calling. Through the display and dial feature, you can quickly return a call, or use the redial button to access one of the last five numbers you've called. Both the displays and the keypads are backlit for easy legibility under any lighting conditions. A digital answering system provides 15 minutes of messaging space, along with options like skip, save, remote message retrieval; you can also record a memo for other family members. The battery life is very low. It also cuts people off when they are leaving messages. It has to be charged constantly. I have only had this phone for a year and suddenly the display on the phone has died.
We have not had any problems in a month of use. This phone had the most features for the price.
Unfortunately, almost six months to the day after receiving it the phone died. Picking up any phone in the house resulted in no dial tone. Since the DSL was still functioning I suspected that it was one of the phones and it turned out to be the EP5995 base station that was causing the problem. Factory new this is probably a five star phone but because of my experience with the refurbished model I'm giving it only three. At first I thought that there was a problem with the phone line because the phone would ring once and stop. I bought one of these phone that was factory refurbished and I really liked the features and performance.
NOT JUST THE INVOICE- THAT WAS MY MISTAKE. WHEN I CALLED BUTTERFLY THEY VERY NOT VERY NICE AND I WAS NOT ABLE TO GET THE SECOND HANDSET. I PAID $60.00 FOR THIS TELEPHONE THAT WAS SUPPOSE TO INCLUDE ONE MORE HANDSET. EXTREMELY DISAPPOINTED. WHEN PURCHASING ANYTHING LIKE THIS BE SURE TO SAVE THE PICTURE ALSO. I ORDERED A DIFFERENT TELEPHONE PACKAGE THAN APPEARS IN THE PICTURE.
The speaker is excellent. The person on the other end doesn't know he is on a speaker. We love this phone. I has all the features needed. No static. Very useful. We purchased one for our home and liked it so much we purchased another for our vacation home. Handset also has a speaker.
