AudioSource Amp 300 High-Current Stereo Amplifier (150 Watts x 2)
AudioSource designs, manufactures, and sells a full line of home theater products including audio components, in-wall and in-ceiling speakers, and complete home theater surround sound speaker systems. AudioSource continues to maintain its commitment to provide the products that people need to complete their home theater systems. AudioSource constantly monitors the market and the latest trends, so that it can deliver the latest technology to the home theater enthusiast at a reasonable price in an easy-to-use format.
Both powerful and versatile, the AudioSource Amp 300 high-current stereo power amplifier offers 150 watts RMS per channel x 2 or, in bridged mono mode, up to an amazing 470 watts x 1 (into 8-ohm speakers in both cases). Now you can scale your listening to match your budget: use either 1 amplifier or 2 for stereo sound or 5 or more in concert for full-blown home-theater excitement--perfect for your DVDs, multichannel DTV broadcasts, or high-resolution audio formats like DVD-Audio and SACD. Keep in mind that this is an amplifier only, with no volume control or onboard surround processing (though it does offer independent adjustable output controls for each channel). It's designed for use with a stereo preamplifier or a surround receiver offering preamplifier outputs. Making the move from 5.1- to 6.1- or 7.1-channel surround sound? If your receiver has preamp outputs for all channels, there's no need to replace your 5.1 surround receiver. Just feed the additional center or surround signals to a strategically positioned Amp 300. Connections consist of a choice of RCA (line-level) or clip-type (speaker-level) inputs and banana-plug-friendly binding-post speaker terminals for outputs. There's also set of stereo (left/right) RCA passthrough jacks for use in a daisy-chain setup. The amp works with 12-volt power-on/-off circuitry and also features a signal-sensing circuit for automatic power-on/-off, making it as ideal for custom installers as for end users. Its A and B speaker outputs let you power speakers in your main room, a second room, or both rooms simultaneously. The amplifier's toroidal power supply keeps distortion extremely low (less than 0.04 percent).

The Amp is so powerful output. If anyone handles it carelessly, it will not work anymore. This equipement is very professional. You will kill any Power Amp by shorting the speaker cable. The speaker cable should never never be short. You can picture it if the cable is short.
Any amp comparable to this would cost at least 3x this. I have had mine for 3 years I use it bridged as a 500 watt mono block. I do keep it well ventilated (nothing on it or next to it)and power it off. Wow. sorry to hear about the problems other people have had with this. sub woofer amp.
amp. It sounds great and powers my Sub no problem. with a power strip when not in use.
I am returning this unit for a refund and will not try another Amp300 after this experience and considering all the other bad reviews. After opening the Amp300 and hooking it up, no sound - DOA. I was hesitant on purchasing this Amp300 after all the bad reviews but I have an Amp 100 that I have liked for 1yr now with no problems.
Weird thing is Audio Source told me they fixed the problems with Amp300 before I purchased. It seems to me that Audio Source does not have any quality control and does not check their items before sending them out. Seems there are a lot of bad units. I tried multiple inputs and phone call with Audio Source.
I beg to differ. Not good.
Even after hours of use, it barely felt warm to the touch. After about three months of use, the right channel died. I never abused this amp in anyway. Sad to say it's true.
Very disappointed with AudioSource, they normally offer good products for the money. That's why I must give this AudioSource Amp 300 a poor rating. Ordered and received an AudioSource Amp 300 (new) about three months ago and was using it to drive a pair of JBL 4412 studio monitors. I verified the right channel of this amp had indeed failed by swapping audio inputs and the speaker outputs.
This isn't one. Living in a apartment, volume levels were always kept low and I had the amp placed on a shelve with plenty of ventilation. I own several other audiosource products that are several years old and they still work wonderfully. It has a flawed design and I recommend to look elsewhere.
Still no right channel. I realize this is an inexpensive amp, but failing this quickly after light use is no excuse.
After just 6 months of bi-weekly use, it stopped working. This amp is cheap, but you get what you pay for. I was using to drive 4 speakers (8 ohm bridged).
