You can also use your computer to burn MP3s to a cd and play it in the Wave Radio. I had a disc get stuck inside the changer and it took several attempts to eject the disc. I would not recommend the cd changer, but if Bose were to design it differently where the discs are pulled in automatically or something where you don't have to force the cds in, then maybe I would recommend the disc changer. I ended up sending the changer back to Bose and I got my $250 dollars back.
It will also eject the disc very smoothly without any problems.
To insert a cd into the changer, you have to forcefully push the discs into each slot and hope that the discs come back out of the machine.
In the future, I will just play some MP3 discs in my wave radio, or use my Ipod and hook it up.
What a mistake.
With MP3s, you almost dont need to purchase a cd changer and the wave radio comes with an MP3 player hook up on the back of the unit.
I liked the Wave Radio so well that I wanted to purchase an accessory to work with my radio.
Using the wave radio with its single slot cd player is much easier because the cd player automatically pulls the disc in once you insert it partially into the player.
The changer is also very noisy and it takes a while to load all of the discs.
I had purchased the Bose CD changer to work with my Wave Radio.
We already own the Wave music system. It also has trouble sometimes when trying to read MP3 or WMA cd's. Disappointing considering the cost of the item. As always the sound from Bose is exceptional. However, we are very dissapointed with the mechanical noise made by the cd changer. My fiance and I received this item as a gift.
What actually caught my eye, though, were all the typos and mispellings. But it's not classy like this strangely-shaped CD player or the expensive radio it goes with. More investigation revealed that it is shaped like an expensive compact stereo Bose sells. Now I realize the reason I have suddenly developed an aversion to Bose products: I lack class. I have a Sony bookshelf stereo that holds, get ready for this, a whopping 60 CDs, and I got it for $150. Today, I decided to go back to Amazon and admire my savage evisceration of the product. Bose customers, I realized, not only will pay $250 for notably bad computer speakers, they will pay $250 for a 3 CD changer because it is in the same shape as another expensive product.
Then I started looking at other Bose products, including this oddly shaped CD player. Then, last week, I was looking for computer speakers at Target and happened to test the Bose Companion 3 against a bunch of other speaker systems that cost up to 5 times less, but which were nevertheless superior to the Bose speakers.
My admiration for this company grows. Three stars to the oddly-shaped CD changer for class.
Instead, I just went home and wrote a one-star review of the speakers. It suddenly flashed through my mind that I'd been exposed to many millions of dollars of Bose advertising in my lifemagazine and newspaper ads, infomercials, billboards.
I buy relatively cheap audio equipment, so I'd never given too much thought to the Bose company before. By god, I was ready to enter the advertising business at that point, because advertising works.
It's loud, and it sounds pretty good.
I just got it, but I am having second thoughts. I love that it has no buttons and so he can't really break anything or take out the CD. I have to say that the sound is impeccable, however the noise it makes when changing discs makes me want to send this player back. I bought this player specifically for my son who has autism. The sound quality is amazing though. However, the noise of the CD change wakes him up every time.How disappointing to put so much into the sound of the music and so little into the mechanical aspects.
Yes, it is rather noisy when changing discs but sound quality is excellent and it does not take up extra space. I bought this item to accessorize my Bose Wave II cd player and just love it's fascinating design. Thumbs up for another great Bose product. Even the disgruntled reviewers need to give Bose the credit for the ultra-modern design which does not clutter up your entertainment. The multi-cd changer acts as the pedestal for the Wave II player.
