Hence we called Amazon customer service to get a replacement. Are these refurbish drum unit. However, the replacement also showed the toner particles on the roller. I really would like to know the outcome of your investigation about this. The first drum arrived showed toner particles on the drum roller. If yes, it should indicate on the description.

I've compared the OEM toner cartridge to the discount refill types and the OEM wins hands down. And the price from Amazon is only a couple of dollars more than the 'half-priced' refillers. I print a newsletter for our local club and it's easy to see how much better the photos and graphics are printed.

I once tried a 'refurbished' or aftermarket version which didn't hold up for 10,000 copies, so I've stuck with the Brother brand when it comes to Drums. I like brother printers because the toner cartridges are so easy to refill. I don't know what more you can expect at this price point. I'm surprised to see the negative reviews for the Brother brand drums. Over the last few hundred copies, it started making a grinding noise and slightly wrinkling my copies, so knowing it was time for drum replacement, went ahead and ordered one. Between the low toner cost and the high output of original OEM Brother drums, I'm skating out cheap. I'm on my second MFC all-in-one device.
I did NOT buy my drum from this website, as I found it for less elsewhere. I buy toner by the bulk off an auction site, and I'm able to refill each cartridge about 3 times before I begin to see a quality loss. The MFC-8860DN is my current model and I've already logged 26,000 copies on it. I consistently got 20,000 copies on my last printer drums, and got 25,000 on this one. My first one gave me reliable use to 78,000 copies before it croaked (bad fuser) and I immediately went out and bought another Brother to replace it. Quality is top notch.
