Fax quality can be increased manually for individual faxes where needed. I use it with a comswitch 7500 and this allows the fax to scan paper documents (any page number) directly into you computer (requires shareware fax software and a modem).
Those who bother to read the user manual and are willing to tweak the settings to get specific results may find that the low price does not necessarily mean low quality. However, if you have a small home office area and sometimes need to send or receive faxes, this machine does work. .
E-mail has overtaken the fax and the fax is now a niche machine. This is an excellent, inexpensive home fax unit.
I have received a few faxes and it's okay, tho the printing quality isn't real good.just okay. I wouldn't recommend this fax machine for business use, but if you're like me and just need to fax out now and then from home, it's perfect. I don't use it a lot, a couple of times a month on average, and only for sending out. I've had this fax machine for a couple of years.
They had lower prices on this item. When I needed a fax machine I just went to Amazon, I ought to have checked the local office supply stores. It's O.K. for the situation where a fax is needed, certainly not for a high volume of work.
Great fax speed and confirmation print out. It sorta sucks that it takes a ribbion and not a cartridge or toner as we are in the year 2008. Not great with copies and not great with scanning interface.
The machine is cheap, the line drops out all the time and the worst part is the old carbon style roller. I purchased this a month ago. The carbon paper only prints 22 pages (I counted the imprints on the carbon roll) before it needs to be replaced. We set our drill in the reverse direction to rewind the carbon twice but the second time through the print quality was really poor. Keep searching.
