Cables To Go 7 Port USB 2.0 Hub Reviews
Apparently, Cables To Go heard the complaints: My unit came with a sticky pad to adhere inside the base to make the fit secure. The light on top *is* kind of silly, since it's always on, even if the hub is unplugged. A few reviewers mentioned that the hub slides around in its base. The reviews for this unit, however, made it seem like a reasonable risk. It doesn't bother me because it's lost in the tangle of cables and peripherals behind my notebook.
(I don't know why anyone would actually want the drive to slide around. To each his own). Most other seven-port hubs have such negative reviews that I was going to try to get by with a couple four-port hubs instead. I have a variety of USB 1 and 2 peripherals hooked up to it, and the 2s (three hard drives and a scanner) seem to work at full speed. I've had this hub for a month and a half, and so far so good.
I'm happy with this hub and recommend it to others. I spent more to get it from Amazon, rather than buy.com, because Amazon gives a little more time for returns and has a good reputation for standing by their products.
The great thing about the mounting bracket is that you can slide the hub out of the bracket at any given time when you need to. There are four ports to the rear and three in the front. A LED light on top provides a light blue luminance indicating power is on. Mounting screws and bracket (included) provide a means for securing this device to a desktop or like I have done, to the side of my desk where it is out of the way yet still very accessible. Cables To Go 7 Port USB 2.0 hub a great product. Its sturdy slim elongated aluminum case construction gives it some weight and durability. It is less costly than other 7 port hubs that I have shopped for and I believe to be the best.
Well I had read the reviews and the main complaint I read about was that the blue lite was way to bright ,some said it was blinding ,others said it wsa so bright they could use it for a night lite. Its a a great Hub and I would recomend it highly to others.
When I first recieved my hub from Amazon/Cables To Go ,I was excited to hook it up and use it for a couple of accessories I had to plug into it. Take Care Nick
I recieved the new one the very next day and the light did work on the new one. Well my PC color scheme has blue lighting ,my keyboard is a Logitech G-15 in which all the keys are backlite in blue.
Let me tell you the lite is in no way a distraction or to bright ,I cant believe how much some exaggerated about the lite. Well I right away sent an email off to Amazon Customer Service and the gave me a return postage paid reciept to returrn the one I recieved and said they would send a new one to me.
Would'nt you knoww it the lite on my new hub was non-functionial I tried pluging it into differant sockets and still no light.
This is a very sturdy design that stays in place. The old one was lighter and moved around on my desk more. This is a definite upgrade from my old USB hub. It is the perfect combination of functionality and style. It is very sleek and looks very nice since I have a very dark brown desk.
Switching between laptops is a breeze - I have one USB port to disconnect to instantly use my keyboard, mouse, etc. I've had this hub for about 3 months now, and it's made my computing so much more convenient. on either PC or Mac in one step.
