Call of Duty 3 Platinum Hits Reviews
Most annoying you cannot skip CGI cutscenes, and the same CGI cutscenes will play when you load a saved game. The first couple of levels are quite boring. There's even a sequence when you need to use a crowbar to enter a doorway it has no place in this game. These diversions detract from the combat and action. There is one level, in particular, in which you get to drive a tank the controls are well-designed the gameplay is exciting. And your own squad says the same annoying things over and over again, as you try to figure out exactly what you're supposed to do. It has a fairly solid single-player campaign, and is a decent tribute to WWII combat.
There are several "quicktime" button-pressing sequences such as setting fuses, and engaging in hand-to-hand combat, which add nothing to the gameplay and seem more like interruptions. The same enemies spawn and respawn in the same exact locations, and do exactly the same things over and over again. The graphics are a mixed bag. Sometimes, it's really hard to believe that there are that many enemies in a building, yet there they are. Overall this is a good game, but not a great game. The environments are complicated, diverse, and beautiful.
There are several instances of texture pop. I didn't really feel like I was part of the story until around level 4 (there are 14), so it takes a while to get into this game. Most of the game's achievements are designed for online play, which at this point in time is mostly non-existent. There's no repetition, and the levels are large. The musical score is present at the right moment, swells at just the right moments, and helps to add to the excitement. After two years, though, there are much better games available and this will look dated as compared to newer games. These things loop and unfortunately remind you too often that you are playing a game. The game's achievements are poorly implemented.
However, sometimes the graphics seem like a mix of current-gen and last gen, with some of the graphics having really bad 3D textures. The patterns are predictable. I can't say it's exactly a really great game, but I don't feel that it's bad either. There are many instances when this game gets really exciting the music kicks in and swells, and you really feel like you're doing something and saving the world. I have mixed feelings about this game.
The sound effects are good, and they make the weapons seem especially powerful they are well-suited to the action and the items. Keeping in mind that the game was released in 2006, it's definitely "dated" and therefore different than more recently released games. Gameplay gets quite repetitive. As you are able to push forward, the respawning stops, but it just starts all over again in the next area.
There are several challenging achievements, but don't expect to unlock them on a single play (without some planning, at least). However, the last level and the last battle sequence makes it feel like this game is actually worth playing. However, enemy taunts are annoying you hear the same phrases over and over again. These are graphical issues which cannot be forgiven.
The game, however, plays well and the stories are engaging. Quite often, characters will partially appear in walls, pop from one location to another, or hover in the air.
4 is here, but you can't beat the price of this game as well as the hours of fun. This game is all that was expected. I know it's been out a while now, and C.O.D.
COD 3 is a fun game but it has its dull moments. In the story there is someone always fighting with each other, no one gets along, but the story still is fun and covers the liberation of France. Multiplayer is sweet i spend most of my time playing the multiplayer. the new feature of driving jeeps to tanks is pretty cool. this game should be bought because it is fun and good graphics, and definetly if you need it to get all COD's.
Now, the single player is stellar and very tough, with good graphics and gameplay. For COD vets, grab COD4. Bigger, louder, but not always better - that's how'd I consider Treyarch's sequel to COD 2; bigger maps, more players online, and vehicles, but, for whatever reason, it's just not as much fun as the previous COD. It's not a bad game at all, it's actually very good, but I believe many people expected more of the same (at least online) from COD2. A good game for COD fans, especially at the marked-down price.
You can't be booted by the Host. The only way you can get booted is if you get punished like six times for killing your teammates. Then after you get booted you just have to go into your recent players list and find a player you just played and select join session in progress. This game is great if you like team killing.
