Canon PIXMA MX700 Office All-On-One Inkjet Printer Reviews

This thing is easy, reliable and does it all at a great price. Very Happy after more than a year of ownership.

Unlike some AIO printers that don't have a fax this one does. Having a memory for repeat fax numbers is an advantage that saves time in the long run. Print colour is comparable to a laser printer; crisp and clean without jagged edges. Photo printing is true to reality quality. I hope to hang onto this printer for years to come!

The MX700 was barely OK when purchased new 8 months ago and its performance has steadily worsened since then. When the printer was new, the photo printing capability was not very good and now it refuses to print any blue color at all. Very disappointing.

Please...Please...Please ignore all good reviews of this product. This product is something that even Toys-r-us would be ashamed of stocking on one of its toy shelves. It jams too frequently on print jobs (i.e., when loading paper). It is noisy. It is slow. Will basically accept only a few sheets of paper for print jobs...otherwise it jams! Copier is OK. Have not tried fax yet. This multi-printer is a multi-piece of junk. As far as printing...give me back my Epson, any Epson!

Here are the things that this printer does consistently... YOUVE BEEN WARNED:

- NO printing / scanning / faxing / functionality whatsoever if there is no ink left in ANY of the ink cartridges
- scanning hangs at "Processing Please Wait Momentarily". What does that mean and why does it just go back to the original screen of "Feed paper now"? It's like sitting through a phone system at AT&T only to be taken to the main menu again
- printing hands at "Processing Please Wait Momentarily". I'm printing 20 copies OF THE SAME DOCUMENT, WHAT PROCESSING DOES THIS THING HAVE TO DO????!!!!
- develop line streaks after 5 months of use from the Automatic Document Feeder. Thanks, Canon mx700.
- arbitrarily save incoming faxes within memory rather than printing them. I never set this up, and yet for some reason that important document that was faxed 2 days ago doesn't appear unless you deliberately go into the menu and print it.

This printer as well as all of the MX Pixma printers in the series is a joke. It has all of the usability of a $20 printer. Just save yourself the trouble and get a $20 printer, $40 fax machine, and $60 scanner, because they would do you MUCH more good!!!!
