Cisco Linksys SD2005 5-port 10/100/1000 Gigabit Switch

The 5-Port 10/100/1000 Gigabit Switch provides non-blocking, wire speed switching for your 10, 100, and 1000 megabit network clients. Drop this switch in place of your current workgroup hub or switch, and you can upgrade your high-requirement workstations to full Gigabit speeds as necessary, while continuing to service other clients at their current speeds. Or build your network from the ground up, with appropriate link speeds for each user's requirements. Either way, it's perfect for graphics, multimedia, and other applications that have to move large files across the network quickly. With the 5-Port 10/100/1000 Gigabit Switch, you can connect your existing 10/100 Ethernet network to a Gigabit server backbone without any additional equipment. All ports have automatic MDI/MDI-X crossover detection, so you don't have to worry about the cable type. Each port independently and automatically negotiates for best speed and whether to run in half- or full-duplex mode. Address learning and aging is supported, as well as 802.3x flow control with head-of-line blocking prevention to keep your high-speed clients from bogging down in lower-speed traffic. Fast store-and-forward switching prevents damaged packets from being passed on into the network.

Cisco Linksys SD2005 5-port 10/100/1000 Gigabit Switch Reviews

Another rock-solid product from Linksys.and if you have a problem, it has a life time warranty.

After running for a year, the switch part of the router started hanging, every time I powered off my HP computer. My Linksys Wireless-G Broadband WRTP54G router again runs 24 hours a day. I highly recommend the Linksys/Cisco SD2005 switch. I had to power cycle the router which also downed my VoIP service.

That keeps my VoIP service up and running uninterrupted. That left my other wireless computers without access to the network printer. It is hard to believe that today I can get business quality equipment at home owner prices. The router now only has one Ethernet wire that is connected to the SD2005 switch, which never gets powered off.

I have a Linksys Wireless-G Broadband WRTP54G router. Now my HP computer has a 1GB connection and the SD2005 switch never hangs when the HP computer is powered down. I placed the Linksys/Cisco SD2005 switch between my router and other Ethernet connected equipment.

I experienced data loss with a 90 foot cable. Otherwise the adapter works fine. Be aware of ethernet cable issues. Even though the Cat5e spec is for cables up to 300 meters long, you may have issues with a much shorter cable, depending on factors such as the quality of the cable, the connections, bends in the cable, etc.

I bought this Linksys 5 port switch with 1000 gigabyte to boost the broadband signal. Very easy to connect and works great. Adding the switch along with the router fixed the problem immediately. Thanks I haven't had a bit of trouble with it. I was having trouble with my Vonage phone audio quality and found through testing all the modems with Vonage customer service help, it was my router causing the problem.

I pruchased three Linksys SD2005 swithces. They installed in a minute eash and are one of the few Linksys products that I have purchased that have not required a call to support in order to get them to work.
