ClickFree HD701 120gb Automatic Backup USB External Hard Drive - Deluxe Edition Reviews

They say its on thier "road map" for the future. Sounds like a great product. My aunt just got one after a great review from a friend. I was very interested in this because I have lots of photos and flies to back up, but have been dreading the process. I thought if my 70+ years old aunt could work this device, I could do it. I will seek out another product instead and Clickfree will loose my business. I am sorry to find out that Clickfree does not have a device yet that supports the Mac OS or later.

When it's finished, it displays a file list of what it just copied. There is no program to load. It even copies data from programs that are in use when you plug it in. The ClickFree HD 701 Back-up drive does everything it advertises. You plug it into a USB slot and it sucks up all your data by itself. You can guide it if you wish, but usually I just let it do its own thing a couple of times a week. There is no key to click.

It may have said that, but I didn't seem to read that info before buying. Maybe this is possible, but so far, I haven't been able to do this. I only wished I had read that it only works for Windows XP and higher. But it is great for the average person, they can just hook it up and you're done.

I should have gotten the one with more space. I just saw there is a 250GB ClickFree. This was very easy to use and easy to set up. I had planned to put my old computer data on this device, but found out it doesn't work for Windows 98. Also I wish you could upload videos directly to Youtube or wherever directly from the device.

to store things on temporarily, etc, without going through the back up software). make what you will of it. I was disappointed to realize that this thing was really only meant to work as a backup device, and not as a normal hard drive. All in all it might make more sense to get one of the hard drives that come with back up software instead of this thing (they tend to come with a lot more GB for the price), though the back software on other devices don't often get good reviews. I was told that 1) within 3-4 weeks an update to the software will come out that will allow deleting of individual files and 2) I can drag or copy files onto it as a normal hard drive, but that if I do that then the files won't be counted or filed by the back up software. I called tech support about 1) being able to delete files that I've backed up and 2) whether the device can be used as a normal hard drive (i.e.

I bought this item after seeing a 'bigger' version offered on a home shopping channel. This product worked EXACTLY as it said it would. Over all this is probably the most happy I've been with a 'technology' item in a long time. It took it about an hour to back all of the files on my computer, and I checked and everything was on it. I literally just plugged it in and it worked (which was a big deal cause I have had other things that were supposed to start automatically but they wouldn't on my computer). This item makes me feel more confident in going to buy a new computer, I feel much better about the big switch, knowing that I will have my 'old' computer in my hand. I knew I didn't need all that memory that they were offering.
