Coby TF-DVD7377 7-Inch DivX Compatible Portable DVD Player Reviews
Excellent product for the price. It has a sharp picture and nice sound. It is more plastic than sturdy as it appears in the photo, but still a good buy for the price. You can view photos from and SD card and play your IPOD or MP3/4 player.
It's not the highest resolution lcd, but it looks good. The anti-skip works very well. I bought this mainly for it's divx/avi/dvd capabilities. That's not so good if your watching anything longer than a half hour. Some thoughts about the player:.
The ability to (carefully) rotate the lid to locking tablet is very good, but the navigational and menu control buttons are then obscured. I found a nice avi splitter program (Briz software) that will easily break up files into segments, 10 - 12 minutes is my preference, so I can quickly tab through a video. One thing that I don't like is that there is no way to bookmark where you are in a video. If you turn off the player it will start at the beginning when you turn it back on. Not all of these splitter programs create files that are compatible with this player, some of the ones that I tried, the audio didn't work on the split files, so verify that before you buy one. There's not much ability to enhance the audio, but I changed the dolby setting to PCM and that seemed to add some depth to the audio. For the money, it does a great job.
So far it has played all Divx/Xvid flawlessly. Videos work fine from USB and SD chips (2GB/SD) Didn't try the high capacity. I looked at some of the flash players with the 2 to 3 inch screens, but that's just too small for me. I'm going to use this mostly on my commute to work.
2Gb or smaller). So now I have an 8Gb card (that I bought from Amazon when I bought the unit) and it's full of movies that the unit won't read. Annoying. The screen and sound are good. This works well, and pulls movies from both the USB and SD card + the DVD player. But be careful. I'm actually annoyed with Amazon, because they advertise SDHC cards (like the 8Gb ones) on the same page as an "accessory" for this item, but in reality the unit will only read from regular SD cards (i.e.
Overall, a good deal for the price its offered. below 2 hours for DVD. Color is bad. Battery life: 3/5 Ok. 3. Its annoying. Formats: MP3, AVI, JPG. The plastic is cheap and easily breakable.
Media: DVD, USB and SD. DVD video is not crisp at all. Supports every possible format and external media. Its huge and heavy. 6. I had a Philips portable earlier.
1. So my comments are based on comparison with the earlier one. just above 2 hours for SD Card. Actualy the max volume is very high and you can listen well while using it on a noisy bus. Overall: 4/5 - Very good. 5. DVD lid is very clunky. 4.
2. Sound Quality: 5/5 - No complaints. AVI video is shakky. Price: 5/5 - Excellent. Formats & Media Supported: 5/5 - Excellent. Device sturdiness: 2/5 - Poor. Perhaps I got a defective piece.
I purchased this a month back and have been using it frequently. The paint will wear out after a few months of usage. Picture Quality: 2/5 - Poor. Gets discharged if not used for a couple of days. After a full charge, gives.
It includes an adapter for the car and a power cord for home and re-charging. The battery will hold about a 2 hour charge, as advertised. It also plays our dvd-r's perfectly. So far, it has performed perfectly and we've had no problems out of it. For the price, this player is a great deal. And the best feature of the player is that it will load and play whatever is on your usb drive in sequence, so you don't have to keep pushing play when a file has finished playing. We bought this player about a month ago for our 19 month old to watch in the car on long trips. The usb and the SD slots are really nice to have, especially for loading up a bunch of kids shows.
