Compaq Presario C770US 15.4-inch Laptop (1.86 GHz Pentium Dual Core Mobile T2390 Processor, 2 GB RAM, 160 GB Hard Drive, DVD Drive, Vista Premium) Black Reviews

But this Compaq was a great buy, at around 550 dollars; it has everything a person needs in a PC. I was a little skeptical at first.

It runs very smoothly, and has great wi-fi connectivity. I am very happy with this purchase. It's exactly as they mention it.

2 GB Ram, a big hard drive, well you can just see the item description. Though I'm giving a great review on this product, a lot of other computers are coming out around this price, so look around before you purchase this one. You might find an even better PC under 600 dollars.

I will no longer purchase any Compaq product and recommend that you consider the risks involved. The screen has now failed. I have owned many Compaq products in the past and currently have 4 in the house.

I returned it to Compaq for repair and they refuse to honor the warranty unless I buy an additional warranty. Compaq service used to be excellent; things have changed.

I purchased a Presario F762NR four months ago. The cost to replace the screen is $2 less than what I paid for the laptop. This is not a review of this specific model but of Compaq service.

I ordered this laptop because my family needed an extra computer, and as I'm the closest thing to a power-user we have, I gave my own computer to my mother and purchased this machine. The only real complaint I have is something that's going to happen with any preconfigured Windows system, which is the crapware that comes preinstalled. Without access to a program like PC Decrapifier (which you can get for free with a Google search), it'll take a few hours to clear the crap off of the computer. The Aero interface runs smoothly, even on the integrated Intel graphics chipset (which is not officially supported by most newer games, but which can be configured to run just fine with a lot of them). While the system is only a small step up from what I had before, it certainly does everything that the information on Amazon promises - which is not a lot, given how sparse the details are. The computer runs Vista without any problems; I haven't yet tried reconfiguring it for Linux, but I'm guessing everything other than the dial-up modem will work fine.
