The screen is clear and the picture is good. The speakers seem a little underpowered though. This has been a good monitor for the price.
It has performed flawlessly for the entire time i've been using it. I purchased this monitor to replace an old 17" CRT unit. It's a good unit for the money. I didn't hook up the speakers as i've got other external speakers, so I can't say how the internal speakers sound. Very vibrant colors, easy to distinguish shades of colors, all around nice item.
I haven't tried using the digital TV tuner as I don't have a digital signal yet. I needed a 19 inch monitor for my new HP Vista computer and I preferred the Compaq over the HP monitor with the better design and the speaker layout. I use a Viewsonic 19 inch monitor as a second monitor and I can't tell any noticeable differences. The Viewsonic reacts slightly faster, but overall the I like the Compaq and use it as my primary monitor. Overall great quality for the price, but I suspect the LCD monitors will drop in price as digital TV and Internet TV become more popular. Overall, good quality and excellent color definition with the 1440 x 900 resolution. Even TV programs look great on the Compaq monitor and reacts quickly with excellent definition to fast moving scenes using the analog TV tuner. I create movies besides other slide presentations and the Compaq monitor looks as vivid and quick as the ViewSonic monitor.
It has nice adjustment features. The picture is clear and crisp. I would suggest this monitor to anyone and everyone. The sound from the speakers is excellent.
They say this monitor is VESA compatible.it is not. HOW THE HECK ARE YOU SUPPOSED TO MOUNT THIS WHEN IT ONLY HAS TWO HOLES. You remove the base and now there are 5 holes and they DO NOT line up with VESA standards.
