She loved the 1st one that came out and after watching her play with it, I know she will love this one too. I purchased this as a Xmas gift for my 9 year old granddaughter.
Some dishes are challenging or hard to pronounce but the "pretend" cooking is all that matters. Plus, 2 has more features than 1 did, and she is really enjoying it. The challenging dishes are great though because it means she won't have completed the entire game in just a day or two. My daughter loves this game. Great birthday present.
My daught is very into cooking. She just turned eight and she absolutely loves this game.
It has nice little extras like unlockables to alter the look of the background and Mama's clothes/accessories. This game works really well with the stylus, it is almost a completely touch game with a good number of recipes to unlock. If you're an adult looking to play this on your commute, bear in mind you will be blowing into the microphone for some recipes.
It has kept me busy for hours, I also can have a friend play with me on their DS through the WiFi. This game is sooo much better than Cooking Mama 1.
