CORSAIR 750w TX Series 80 Plus Certified Power Supply Reviews
All in all, great rock-solid product. I replaced my 420W, not only to save energy (this one's around 80% efficient, whereas my previous one is only 60%) but also because I plan on upgrading some hardware in the near future. It definitely looks and feels like a high quality product. Installing was not too complicated, though for me it was a minor hassle dealing with all the spare cables/connectors.
I've never replaced a power supply unit before, but I got good results with this one. AMD Athlon 64 3800+ 2.4 GHz. So here are some tips that may help you. I bought the Corsair TX750W to replace an Antec 550HE that burnt out. 2 DVD-RW drives. Windows XP Pro SP3
Current config:. To be honest, though, the PSU didn't seem to generate much heat in the first place. Since the PSU is NOT modular, you can't remove the extra cables, so I simply tied them up inside my case. During installation, I had to temporarily remove a fan and 2 DVD drives in order to get enough room to move it into position. If I upgrade my PC, I may keep it and hook up the new parts to it. I had it pointing towards the middle of the case so that any hot air would be pulled out by one of the exhaust fans at the rear of my case. EVGA GeForce 7800 GT 256 MB.
First, I would recommend that you measure the space inside your case before you buy this (or any) PSU. There are a lot of cables sticking out of the PSU, but it wasn't a big deal for me because I pretty much used 1 connector on each cable. Overall, I am happy with the Corsair. The Corsair's fan is big, but quiet.
Thermaltake Kandalf case w/ 4 fans. In the end, I ended up not using 3 PCI-E cables. According to the Corsair website, this PSU measures 5.9"(W) x 3.4"(H) X 6.3"(L). 2 GB RAM.
2 SATA hard drives.
This PSU is a great looking and powerful unit, with plenty of room for expandability. However, since this was so a nice powerful unit, I decided to build a gaming system around it. I am now running a SLI (2 8800gt's) gaming system with no problems what so ever. Well after installing this unit I discovered it was actually the motherboard that had gone south on me. I originally bought this to replace a what I thought to be a defective power supply unit.
No problems so far, quiet, and smooth. You can tell this is a quality power supply as soon as you see it. Bought this unit after going thru several of the cheaper units that are available out there.
I won't write much but I will Say this PSU is a beast. Lots of power. Corsair makes quality products that last. Nothing bad about it. Works like it's suppose to. I'm happy. The price here was lower than the 550w Corsair on Newegg. It's just wonderful.
