I tried everything they suggested on the website, and what little help they could give me was to essentially tell me that they couldn't help me because it didn't have a warranty (less than a year later). I got this mp3 player (at my own request) for Christmas last year.
I strongly suggest not buying this gadget. Considerably less than durable, and you won't get any help if/when it breaks.
However, one day I tried to turn on the radio, and the thing just died. Had to reset it, to no avail.
Powered on kinda-sorta, but wouldn't boot.
. The thing was alright, it was nifty to customize.
but for 70 bucks it will work for now.thats why i dont give it 5 stars.
well i got this online after much debating on which mp3 player to get.
the videos are not the best ive noticed that it will get "blockey" at times and ill re-start it and it goes away for a while.
i downloaded itunes on my pc for my daughter and it just sucked up the system resources and you have to keep all of your songs that you want on your computer and i dont like that.
the battery time is real good and it does not take long to get a full charge.
so i got the zen 2gb player and it does the job i wanted it to.
i do not have an apple based computer and was not going to get an apple based mp3 player.
it does have a "cheap" feel and seems to scratch very easily.
i just imagine one day it will stay "blockey".
I spent $100's on these two devices (20gb and 60gb sized players) and now they sit on my obsolete hardware shelf. My players became obsolete, I literally could not add new songs/books without tracking down an XP computer first. I was so upset I didn't even consider another Creative product, instead I went directly to Apple and bought a 160gb IPOD. I will NEVER buy another creative product no matter how good it is. I do not recommend EVER buying a creative product because they don't support them. I've owned two previous Creative ZEN media players and they were excellent until Windows Vista came out. Then I found out Creative would not create updated software. My ONLY choice (according to Creative) was to upgrade to a newer device.
Creative's "service" solution for the card problem is for ME to pay to send the product back to them for repair and if it's been more than 3 months, I also get to pay them a $25.00 fee. This problem wasn't much of a surprise since I experienced the same double talk from customer "service" when I tried to get some questions answered about the 32gb Zen I bought 6 mo. The SD card slot doesn't recognize any card although the cards work in the 32 gb Zen w/same version software. a computer that can't interpret language or 2.

This doesn't seem like a fair warranty. They completely miss the point of the question/issue, every time, and give answers that make you think you might be dealing with 1. (I only bought it because it was easier to help my spouse adapt to something I already knew how to use). E-mails to Creative customer service have been exasperating. We purchased the 4gb Zen 2 mo ago.
We own a 32gb and a 4 gb. Their claim of 25 hours is completely false. If this is something that matters to you, you may want to keep looking for a device that is better supported by the company.
In fact, when I tried to add a picture to the Zen that was not compatible, the Zen program asked if I wanted it to convert the picture to a compatible format. So, back it went and I did some more research and chose this Creative Zen and I am so very pleased with it. The USB cable is super short about 5 inches. I won't hesitate to use this number in the future when I have questions about products that I am thinking of purchasing. because I had several questions about the Creative Zen. I am VERY pleased with the following case that I purchased. Zen downloads audio books from my state library website from the get-go.no special downloads needed (unlike Zune). PROS:.
Full Flap Leather Case for Creative Zen, Black. I had originally purchased a Microsoft Zune because I thought it would be user-friendly like its other products/programs.WRONG. CONS:. It was not sold directly by Amazon but from a vendor (Enforcity), so I had to pay shipping but it was only $2.98.

Only one that I've found.the screen protector that comes on the Zen can't be used to protect the screen because it has printing on it, so you really want to purchase one according to other reviewers who said the screen scratches easily. Very user-friendly. I was able to add music, videos and pictures without a problem. RECOMMENDATION: Purchase a good leather case to protect the unit. Enforcity mailed it the very next day and I am extremely pleased with it:. Great price for 16gb. And, I'm going to listen BEFORE the screen gets scratched.
ALSO, my cats can't step on the Zen because it's up out of the way. The rep was super friendly and answered my questions so that I could make an informed decision. I also used Amazon's customer service help line: 1-866-216-1072. 3. 1. 2. At first it bothered me that the Zen dangled from the USB cable while it was charging, but now I like it because I know at a glance which cable is for the Zen among my many USB cables for my digital camera, camcorder, etc., and the Zen is so light that it won't damage the Zen or my computer USB port.
