Digiview RC61ELW Atomic Travel Clock

The Digiview RC61ELW Atomic Travel Alarm Clock is a radio-controlled digital alarm clock designed especially for travelers, but you'll find that this inexpensive atomic clock is also ideal for use on a nightstand or a crowded desk. Although the RC61ELW is pocket-sized, it features a large display and an auto-off backlight for clear viewing day or night. This compact, remarkably accurate clock is loaded with dual snooze alarms, and it even features a calendar and indoor temperature display.

Digiview didn't scrimp on style -- this clock has a semi-metallic silver-toned molded case that looks good in any decor. In timekeeping mode, the clock's two-line LCD panel shows the time, month, date, weekday, and indoor temperature. The dual alarms also feature a programmable snooze interval so you can wake up just how you prefer. The hinged front cover protects the LCD display during travel, and then pivots open to serve as a stand. Designed for placement on a nightstand, table, or desktop, this compact clock works on the road, at home, or in the office, and it is powered by a single AAA battery (not included).

The RC61ELW is amazingly accurate. It calibrates itself to the world's most accurate clock every night by receiving WWVB 60kHZ radio transmissions. These transmissions contain time information from the U.S. atomic clock source operated by the U.S. Commerce Department. The time can be displayed in 12-hour or 24-hour format, the month and date are displayed digitally in that order, and the weekday is displayed as a two-letter abbreviation in English, Spanish or French. Successful reception of the time-sychronization radio signal and signal quality are indicated by a radio tower and waves icon just above the clock's seconds display. After synchronization occurs, you can select your continental U.S. time zone, and a U.S. map icon in the upper line of the display indicates the selected time zone. This clock automatically also adjusts for Daylight Saving Time.

Almost anyone who travels can use and appreciate the Digiview RC61ELW. It's small enough to fit in a pocket or purse. And because the clock can be manually set, you can use it outside of WWVB range, in which case it functions as a highly accurate digital quartz clock. This economical atomic travel alarm clock makes a thoughtful and practical gift.

Digiview RC61ELW Atomic Travel Clock Reviews

Minus:. I have had several atomic clocks and this is the cheapest and best. - has + and - keys, so you can easily set the times.

- folds up and is very protected. Plus:. - not so easy to operate.

- shows temperature as an added plus. - battery lasts forever. - good to read.

- always syncs really fast, no matter where in the US I was. - shows the time the alarm is set to without having to press a button - that is a big PLUS for me. - good readability.

This clock packs a lot of useful features into very little space. My wife uses ours as her regular nightstand clock as well as taking it on trips. The dual alarms are handy and the ability to configure the snooze interval is great. Highly recommended. The radio time receiver has worked well everywhere I've tried it. The display is large and easy to read. And the whole unit folds down into a tiny package for transport.

Once set it give time temperature and is compact and easy to pack. Setting the time and time zone may take 12-24 hours for the atomic clock to set the correct time if you miss one step in the set up instructions. The clock is easy to read.

You would think that the most important aspect of quality control for an alarm clock is to keep good time. If you have to be somewhere important in the morning and can't afford a one hour margin of error, get another alarm clock. The clock keeps losing an hour between the time I go to bed and the time I wake up. I bought this last week.

Well 45deg from below is still visible to me. If I hold the clock the reading will rise. I can see the display in the dark very clearly when I press the light button (same button as the snooze). The buzzing sound from the snooze button doesn't bother me at all. The sound wakes me up gently with slow beep, then it becomes faster and it won't stop till you hit the snooze button. Is there any clock out there that knows when you move. I'm not sure which one is correct. The only blur angle is from the bottom.

:) At least I don't get shocked by a sudden fast beep beep sound. The size of the AM/PM sign doesn't bother me too. To stop the snooze you need to press the set button which is smaller. You can set 2 different alarm. Can even set the snooze time too which is very good. I can also see it from different angle. I thought this clock would reset itself when I move.

It didn't change. It's 2 degree lower than my wall clock. Update: Recently I moved to another state. The temperature sensor is quite sensitive too. I can do that only when I'm fully awake. Silly me.

This clock deserves a good review. It's cheaper than others and it has good features. I want a functional atomic clock with good review but can't find any. The only thing that bothers me is whether the temperature reading is accurate or not. So if u put the clock higher than your eyes you'll need to take it down. The set up was easy for me.

I need to change the time zone, only then the time changes. I almost buy the one costs $40 and feel so relief that I didn't.
