Havin a memory card and a small design to down load our movies is ideal. We like to video a lot of travel in the hills.
must there always be a catch when you get stuff free. running: Windows XP media center edition w/ SPII & III. Everything fits fine but my PC does not recognize it. I bought it to read my 8gig card. PC doesn't recognize the reader. At my computer I double click on removable disk and get "please insert a disk into drive F", I right click and it says 0 for all capacity.
The product packaging itself does not mention HC either. I got two of these, hoping to be able to read my 4gb and 8gb SDHC cards. Hey, even garden-variety 2GB cards are not recognized. Being unable to give "Zero or Negative" stars. Unfortunately, this reader does not recognize them. But - at five bucks, it even does not deserve returning back.
I'm not too computer savvy, but it works great for me. Great price. I mainly use it to upload digital pictures to send to family. I'm sure the electronic wizards will always be coming up with something "new and improved" all the time. But for now, I recommend it. I love it.
It will take an SD card. For the 'other cards' that it can read, you will need to have your own adapter to fit into the reader. Works as described.
