This Emerson Large Display Caller ID has a memory large enough for 80 names and numbers and a red flashing light to let you know when a new call has come in. Know who has called while youve been away, even if they dont leave a message on your answering machine! Large screen readout tells you the name, entire phone number, day and date and exact time the phone call came in. Scroll buttons let you review past phone calls. Names/numbers stay in your memory until you delete them. Choose your language: English, Spanish or French. A contrast button lets you adjust the screen contrast to suit your needs. The Caller ID can be hung on a wall or set on a table near the phone. Note: Operation of this Caller ID product, including name and number display, depends on the services offered by your telephone company and on the services to which you chose to subscribe. Don't buy this piece of junk. I agree with one of the other reviews, this appears to have a nice blue back light; however, it doesn't.
I reality, it's not back lit at all. What's so tough making something like that. The picture of the product makes it looks like it has a nice, bright blue back lit display. I've looked around a bit and just can't find a standalone caller ID box with large characters on a back lit display that you can see from across a small room, or even from one end of a sofa to the other. Instead it's the typical dark greenish looking LCD that you can't read unless you're right next to it and viewing it from just the right angle.
In use everyday. It still works just fine. Good Product. Recommended.
I would recommend the unit for people who have some problems with their eyesight but not to anyone with serious vision issues. The unit worked as advertised, but the display wasn't sufficiently readable for my father, who is visually impaired.
The number display showed only "parts" of the numbers, and the actual display was cut off at the left and unreadable. Awful. It was a complete rip off.
I actually didn't know before this that Amazon doesn't cooridnate returns with outside vendors listed on the site, and as a result of my experience on this purchase, will never buy anything that lists a vendor as the purchase agent. Also, this vendor is not recommended. I've never had a problem with "Amazon" backed purchases, but with this product via this vendor, no refund was ever processed.
Costly. Don't buy this product. The Emerson Large Display Caller id product was defective.
The vendor via email seemed fine and Maxi-aids agreed to processing a return but I had to provide my own return labelling and postage. I lost not only the product cost and shipping, but also return shipping to send the defective item back.
