F-Zero Gp Legend Reviews
Its really fast and the controls, while take a bit to get used to, are tight and responsive. Being a Nintendo fan for life I grew up with the F-Zero series. I have a huge Nintendo collection and this is a great addition to it. I actually recently purchased this game just to get that feel for the Mode-7 racing games again. I didn't think I would play it that much but ended up loving it. Its got a great story and just a blast to play.
Thank Nintendo for F-Zero: GP Legend; another installment of the futuristic racing series that is undoubtadly the best of the series to ever grace the GBA. F-Zero: GP Legend bares more resemblance to the classic original Super NES title than any other game in the series on any other platform, and next to Mario Kart: Super Circuit it's the best racer for the GBA. All in all, consider this essential playing. The gameplay is simple and easy to get into for novices, while it still offers challenging gameplay for veterans of the series. Offering a horde of different racers and racing modes, variety is the name of the game here, as F-Zero offers superb graphics and makes excellent use of the GBA's control scheme (since it makes frequent use of the shoulder buttons, it's actually better to play on an original GBA as opposed to the GBA SP) as you race throughout the varied tracks while trying to keep your vehicle from going up in smoke. As far as racing games go for the GBA, the small library that does exist isn't the best.
The reason why I didn't give this a 5 star rating is because nothing is perfect, and I am sure if I got a perfect version of this game and compared it to this one, I could find some cons. The game is slightly odd, but that's why I liked it so much. time attack is good, ect. I bought this game because I am fasinated by racing games for the GBA. The story mode is good, the . I saw this game a week before I purchased it, and it looked really cool. So I bought it, and I liked it.
Then last year Nintendo dropped F-Zero GP Legend to coincide with the Fox cartoon series. It offered one gameplay mode essentially and was just too hard to control on the little system. Last night challenging the time attack mode I was amazed to find that this game will save a GHOST of your run onto the gamepak for you to race against yourself, for every track IMPRESSIVE. Really fun and deep just like I expect from the big N.
The L and R triggers are a huge component of this game and as I am getting deeper into I am finding it much more fun to play on the GC GBA player as it allows for a little more control and visibility, but it still is playable on the GBA just a little more challenging. The problem was the GBA release called Max Velocity, as another reviewer has stated was a pale shadow of a racer especially GX. What a difference, excellent variety of gameplay modes with a diffuculty level that actually is playable. F-Zero GX for the gamecube blew gamers away with its release, great graphics and truly challenging gameplay.
My favorite character in the game is probably Jack, C.Falcon, or Rick W., or even Black Shadow. WOW. Some levels are really annoying, though, like the Illusion level. I got every single vehicle in the game in 2 days, and even got the Platinum Cup ( you have to unlock that cup) and beat it on the Expert class. Well, I don't want to give up all of the game, so I'll leave the rest for YOU to find out. The story line is a little tiny, they could've added more, but I still enjoyed it. The soundtrack is a little annoying (except for the Port Town and Mute City music), but that didn't really matter.
Only because I stayed up all day and night playing this game, I am a game freak and I am addicted to this game. The only flaw to this game is that it is WAY too short. There are 34 vehicles in this game that each have their pros and cons. They have no Electric Bumpers, and the Fire Field level, because of the mines on the ground. The levels were pretty cool, too. I couldn't have been more impressed by this one game. Only you can decide the fate of protecting Mute City, and the WORLD. One of the best vehicles in the game is the Blue Falcon, Twinoritta, and the Red Gazelle.
