Fender PD-150 Passport® Deluxe 150-Watt Portable Sound System with Deluxe Speaker Array Reviews

I have the speaker stands as well as the PA system, so with the elevated speakers the sound covers the room very well. I've used this for about 4 years now, and am very pleased with it. I am a magician, and use it for my shows to amplify both voice and music. I also use it in my church to amplify our keyboard and occasionally our vocalists.

I also have the battery pack so I can use it outdoors, and this works great. I also love that it is so portable, weighing in at only 35 pounds. This has covered crowds of up to 300 people for me, and works like a charm. This has never been a problem for me, as I use it primarily for voice amplification, but for a DJ, or someone who wanted to use it primarily for music, the lack of that heart-thumping bass might be a problem for you.

For my purposes, though, it's worked great and I highly recommend it with the above noted exception. The only downfall is that there is no subwoofer, and therefore very limited bass. I'm very pleased with the overall sound quality, and the ease of set up.

My wife runs a children's choir and this is a great sound system from the concerts.

We generally have 150-200 in attendance and this was to keep us from having to borrow systems or pay the hotel AV fees. The one minus might be that when the mic receiver is installed, the component storage is taken up. This was purchased for a non-profit that holds meetings at various venues including some recreational meetings outdoors. The built-in wireless mic sounds good but it seems a little weaker than the plug in mic although the level control compensated well. I also purchased speaker stands, mic stand and stand carry case so the cables and components can be carried there. In the initial setup it sounds great but has not been used in a large room yet.

We feel very good about our investment. This birthday party was a group of approx. 100 people and the sound was perfect at only #3 on the volume dial. We have only used our new pa system once but we were able to set it up with no previous experience in pa equipment. We have a dance troupe and perform for weddings and all kinds of special events. It was so cool to finally be able to control the quality of our own sound system.

One negative. The plastic knobs are kinda cheap, not very durable. I purchased this PA system along with the speaker stands, to use at a medium-size church for a wedding. Bottom line.Great product for the price. Very clean and professional sounding. The control knobs are easy to handle with one finger. Powerful enough that I didn't need to turn the master volume above 50%.

The stereo inputs are very handy for playing music through an iPod/mp3 player, CD player, or any standard portable music device. Suggestions. The included speaker cables are quite short. You'll most likely need to buy longer ones. If you're going to use this a lot, I would be concerned about the knobs eventually breaking. I really like they way the whole thing packs up into a single unit, so there's only one thing to carry, and not three. I used it to play music for the prelude, processional and recessional, and for a few live vocal performances with instrumental background.

Also, use speaker stands, or something comparable to raise the speakers to ear level or higher, but the same would apply for any PA system. It sounded great.
