The tripod with flex legs is a nice design. I have tried to resolve this matter directly with Flip but they have not been helpful. However the threaded section that screws into the camera body is too long. This does not allow the base of the camera to pull down flat against the top surface of the tripod the way it should.
The camera can be set on anything and get the same results. I bought the mini flip-video camera to make Youtube movies. It's nice to have the tripod, just in case, but for me, it is basically useless. The tripod can be used to point the little camcorder at its target, but the camera is so small and easy to use, I found that I really do not need the tripod. The tripod was very tiny, smaller than I expected. I love the camera.
I like the tripod because you can move the legs to get the exact position you need. It is exactly what I hoped for. It is lightweight and easy to attach to the Flip Video Camera.
Even better are the adjustable legs you can move about to shoot from different angles. Lightweight and sturdy, this is a great accessory for the Flip. This tripod works well for hands free recording.
I love how the tripod comes with an assortment of colors for the tips of the base. It is fuctional and cute and works very well with the flip video.
