Flip Video Underwater Case for Flip Ultra Camcorders Reviews
I recently went on a Caribbean cruise and wanted to get this case for my flip camera. It is truly amazing how great it works and was able to get some amazing videos of snorkeling etc.
Purchased this case in May 2008. Then I bought mine, and didn't get an opportunity to use it until October. One leaked, but we fixed that problem ourselves. And, my bad, I didn't try it out. The "on-off" button on the case is too far from the switch on the camera.
Well, when you put the camera inside the case, it won't turn on. I had purchased 3 others previously, and two out of the three worked O.K. I can turn the camera on, then place it in the case, but that isn't very feasible when you are in the water. Since two out of four I purchased did not work properly, I am not at all pleased with this case. Thus not allowing it to turn on.
Everything was okay. We immediately removed the camera and luckily had no damage to the camera.
We caught it early- but were very dissappointed that we were unable to get the videos we had looked forward to. Cleaned the case and seal when we returned to our ship and let it dry. Thought I would take a chance despite the hit and miss reviews- we got a miss.
As soon as we hit the ocaen- big problem. Tried the tissue test at home and had no problem, put the camera in and submerged, still no problem. In just chest deep water with the canera just below water level we noticed it was taking on water.
Then we hit the ocean agian the next day and sure enough it leaked again. Checked seal for foreign objects and tried the camera again in the sink.
I can't wait to use it this weekend in the Bahamas. Shipping was super fast. I love it. Amazing product and the price is unreal.
Flip camera itself works great. Friendly advice, do not buy this product. It took two months for customer service to get back to me once I sent my camera and case in. I haven't got the case back nor a refund. That was almost five months ago now. The first time I took the camera case out in the ocean, it leaked and ruined my camera.
