Franklin KID-1240 Children's Talking Dictionary and Spell Corrector Reviews
I would recommend this item to parents and grandparents as a neat gift for a 6-9 year old who is reading. My granddaughter who is 6 just loved this talking dictionary. It was everything I hoped it would be. Additionally, she loves the games, especially "Hangman".
Also, she on occasion asks how to spell certain words. It is a lot easier for a six year old to use an electronic gadget to "look up" a word than to use a dictionary. When she started using this item, she immediately loved it. She is starting to read (pretty well, actually) and sometimes asks her parents what a certain word means. So this turned out to be exactly what I was looking for.
It was almost impossible to install the batteries, the voice was not clear enough and the batteries went out way too quickly
This is a great product. My 10 year old and 8 year old (who has Down Syndrome) are really using this, and they love the games.
Thank you. I think its a great product. My daughter has an IEP in school and this product was recommended by her teacher. If she types in the word she can't read then it will speak it back to her and she will have a better understanding of the book. She can use it while reading books when I am not around.
It is well priced, a great size for him to carry around and the voice is very clear. He types his words in and then hits speak. My son is non verbal and he uses this product to talk.
