Franklin MWS-1840 Speaking Merriam Webster Dictionary and Thesaurus Reviews
The prononsiation and the screen quality could be better but overall is an ok handy dictionary. It's a pretty good speaking dictionary for the price.
this item is hard to see, upper line is partially hidden. do you have something larger and easier to read.
I love how quickly it was fulfilled and completely accurate. This was in my hands on the 29th using ground shipping. I've ordered a couple of products on Amazon from Skybox-USA and have always had fantastic service and shipping times. The screen is a bit small but the adjustable font size makes it perfect. I ordered this product late in the evening on the 26th. The product is as-promised and works great.
The only thing is that the speakers voice is quite hard to make out, she has no problem with it but i personally don't understand what it says. I guess its up to personal skill. Its still helpful though. I bought this for my mum as she is restudying english and subjects, she found this extremely helpful with pronoucing words and understanding words she didnt know how to spell properely.
Although the screen can be bigger and with a backlight, and sometimes keys get stuck, it is the best investment I've made for a such a useful electronic gadget. Most times, this gadget is all they use to get through a book or assignment. I purchased one about 5 years ago for my kids who were in grade school, they're now in high school and are still using it. Quite amazed at its durability after years of owning one and mainly used by kids (e.g., banged around, buried under books, toys, etc). I am surprised that this dictionary is still being sold with all the high tech tools available. Sometimes a definition is not clear so they need to use a real dictionary or go to an on-line dictionary for clarification.
