Fulcrum All Night Light Travel Alarm Clock Reviews
And it's impossible to see any digits on the display. What a waste of money. I tried resetting it, but it went back to the non-sense display immediately. I got this alarm clock from Amazon in Feb 08 for $9.99. Taking out the batteries doesn't help - now this clock will beep annoyingly, with the display lit, with no way to turn it off unless the batteries are removed again. It started to display non-sense time and date (symbols which don't look like digits) in June 08.
try another one before getting this one. cheap is good. it works but the display has to be put on and inverted angle to be able to read it. I had to return the first one because it couldn't be set. couldn't set the time, date or anything.
I have some concerns about the durability of the flip out part, though. The batteries are potentially rechargeable (AAA), so if they get low while travelling I can just pop them in the charger. The light feature is nice because it is very easy to tell if the alarm is set, either the light is on (set) or it isn't on (not set). This alarm clock is very compact and will pack well. Overall, I think it is a good, cheap travel alarm clock. I also like that it is easy to switch to a 24 hour day.
Evidently, it does not like the rigors of being in a suitcase. Every time I travel, which is weekly, the clock needs to be reset.
(such as sitting on a nightstand a bit higher than the bed). Still, this is half the price of similar models, and they don't offer the "all night light". A somewhat less useful feature is a "flashlight" on the back using the green display LED. Last gripe: the alarm and backlight go on with the same switch, so you can't have one on without the other. The button arrangement makes this awkward at best.
Also, when the backlight is on, the display becomes impossible to read at the slightest downward angle. I got it for the "all night light" feature and the date display. The alarm does the job, and when folded closed the display is protected. This is the best travel alarm clock for the price.
