Strong without being heavy, each Füri Rachael Ray Gusto Grip knife is constructed from a single piece of superior German CrMoV stainless-steel alloy, with a forged bolster and strong tang. Molded around the tang is an inner core of durable polypropylene and an outer layer of synthetic rubber for all-day, non-slip comfort. One new feature is the anti-microbial agent permanently infused into the polypropylene. The handles feature the patented Füri reverse-wedge shape that prevents the hand from sliding toward the sharp blade even when wet. At the tail, a stainless-steel counterweight provides perfect balance. Füritechnics recommends washing the knives by hand and sharpening them periodically with the company's own Diamond Fingers system. This product came on time and was a good price at time of purchase. The only problem i have with it is that from the time i purchased it to even before it was delivered the price was changed and wasnt able to obtain a refund on the money difference. It was a christmas gift which would have been hard to find.
Sliced vegatables paper thin. Very pleased. No slippage when slicing greasy items. Sharp out of the box.

My Husband purchased these knives for my anniversary, and I have been so impressed by the quality and cutting power these provide. The East west knife rocks my world. Totally a great purchase. I would definaly buy this set again. I've convinced a few friends to use them when they are over and they are converted Rachel Ray knife users.
There are lots of knives that don't rust in the dishwasher, and they don't usually hold an edge as well as high carbon stainless steel. I know that most people reach for the knife that they feel is the most comfortable in thier hand. High quality stainless steel knives have a high carbon content. They feel great in your hand, and dont slip around in your hand even when wet.
I cant say enough good things about them. I have many nice knives in my kitchen such as Henckels, Sabatier, Kershaw, Boker Ceramic, and Rachel Ray. I love to sharpen knives too.
As with any quality knife, do not wash these knives in the dishwasher. I am a knife nut. Since I bought these Rachael Ray knives, I have not reached for anything else.
The high carbon stainless steel will rust a little if exposed to moisture and corrosive detergents in the dishwasher. I have not had to sharpen these knives yet. They come sharp out of the box.
I have had these knives for nearly three months. They cut up onions and cut through sausage wrappers very easily, as well as anything else.
