It's portable so you can play at work, beach, book store, on the bed, in the bathroom, or wherever. I'm very impressed with this new backlit feature, thanks Nintendo. It was impossible to find a new Game Boy SP, so I had to settle for a used one from Gamestop, I went to many Gamestops to find one that was in the best possible condition without scratches on the clear LCD cover, although many were in good condition but I wanted a GOOD one. Unlike previous colors/models, these later models have a different backlit system. Overall if you want an awesome video game system or handheld get a Game Boy SP.
This Pearl Blue color(which I got) along with Pearl Pink and Graphite were the last model Nintendo made in 2006. You can't turn the backlit off, instead there is a super bright mode in addition to the regular bright mode. Finally I got a Game Boy SP again. The AC Adapter charger is upgraded as well, it's significantly smaller than previous version. Previously I had a NES Classic edition but it got jacked by the workers who installed the wood flooring for my home a few years ago.
Make sure you pick the latest color/model plus its battery is fresher too.

Good game system exactly like the game boy color system only more modernized and higher technology and it folds and has a back light and rechargable battery pack to just plug into the wall cool game system though it plays the old school game boy games, game boy color games, and the game boy advance games defently excellent game system.
How sweet was that. Good doing business here. She was so kind and even threw in extra accessories. I inquired about this product before purchasing it, and heard back w/i 1 day from the seller. My daughter is going to love her gift.
