GE 29196ge1 Deluxe Slimline Corded Telephone with Caller ID (White) Reviews

WHEN THE BATTERIES ARE LOW, YOU HAVE TO LOOK CLOSELY AT THE CALLER ID SCREEN TO SEE WHO'S CALLING. THE DIALTONE BUTTON MAKES A "SPRING" SOUND WHEN YOU PRESS IT. BUTTONS DON'T WORK. MY ONLY COMPLAINT IS THAT THE BATTERIES HAVE TO BE REPLACED EVERY MONTH IT SEAMS LIKE. I EXPERIENCED DIFFACULTIES AND HAD GOTTEN A NEW ONE. I BOUGHT THIS PHONE TWO OR THREE YEARS AGO. YOU JUST CAN'T SEE THE SCREEN. THE SECCOND ONE IS STILL GOING STRONG.

B. AND C. THE A. I RECCOMEND THIS PHONE. THE PHONE STILL WORKS WHEN THERE ARE NO BATTERIES OR THEY ARE LOW.

Unlike everyone else's phones, my caller ID works. But it devours 3 AA batteries every 2 months or so.If you happen to own one of these phones, and you're experiencing similar problems, get a new phone. It's evidently not worth the hassle or postage to have it repaired/exchanged/etc.If you don't own one of these phones, then don't buy one.

They do not refund, only exchange. What a waste of money and time(. I continued to return a total of 5 different replacements, not one of them had a caller ID that worked. I bought this phone last August. Unfortunately, I waited a month before trying to exchange it and had to send it to the manufacturer. When I received the replacement, the caller ID didn't work at all. The caller ID would work occassionally during the first 3 days, but after that, it simply stopped working.

Go figure. I returned the first one thinking it was the phone I bought, but second had same issue. The caller id function simply doesn't work, on the phone I'm replacing Caller ID works fine, plug this one in, set up the A/Cs and all it displays is NO DATA.Tech support line is all PRE RECORDED messages that don't help.

It's random.I exchanged this phone twice thinking the defects were just with the phone I had and because it looks nice as a wall phone before realizing this phone has serious problems. So on good days I get tone dialing, and on other days I get pulse dialing. The phone looks pretty which is the only nice thing I can say about it.

2. But there are two major problems with this phone. 1.

The microphone is defective. When you pick up the phone after it rings, the microphone won't work for about 10 seconds, then you hear a click and then you can speak. There's no settings to change from pulse to tone dialing but it randomly changes on it's own.
