GE 29878GE1 Digital Messaging System Reviews
I have owned this answering machine for quite some time and never had problems with it. I think its great quality and is perfect as a messaging system.
This little number has been fantastic. Memo function is great for last minute thoughts before I fall asleep. Records clearly enough, can get messages remotely which I like.
No tape, so people can leave longer messages. It has to sense when someone has "hung up." so if you have a VERY slow speaker it might be a nuisance. It finally died after about 8 years and I bought another of the same model in part because I couldn't find another option without purchasing a whole phone, which I don't need. However, after a long silence it will end the recording.
This has worked just fine - up to now. My experience with this has been okay. The message audio quality is understandable but could be much better. I've had mine two or three years at least. I just realized that it's started cutting callers off after 15 seconds, even though the recorded voice verifies that it's set for 2 minute record time (can computers lie)., so I'll be replacing it soon. All in all, it's been okay, but like the others say, I guess you get what you pay for. I don't get a lot of calls and just needed something to take an occasional message when I'm out or screening calls.
I'll be returning it asap. I just bought this hunk-o-junk answering machine and it barely works at all. I could barely understand every other word of the few message clips I did get. My outgoing message is warped and the machine hung up on everyone after 15 seconds.
After a couple of years of adequate service, the answering machine just stopped working. Perhaps it was jostled in the move, but who wants an answering machine that can't handle being bumped.
