Gran Turismo 5 Prologue

The award-winning Gran Turismo franchise returns with its 5th installment, Gran Turismo 5 Prologue, exclusively for PlayStation 3. With its signature realism and unrivaled physics, this highly anticipated precursor to Gran Turismo 5 continues to blur the line between simulation and reality.

"Prologue" is defined as an introductory or preceding event or development, and true to every letter, Gran Turismo 5: Prologue treats both long-time fans of the Gran Turismo franchise as well as those coming to it new, with a generous sampling of what they can expect to see in Gran Turismo 5 later in the year and further releases on the PS3.

Developed By the Best
Polyphony Digital is the developer of the Gran Turismo franchise, led by creator Kazunori Yamauchi. Polyphony Digital is known for pushing the limits of the PlayStation hardware, and with its realistic graphics and physics, Gran Turismo 5: Prologue is no different. In addition to receiving CAD data from the auto manufacturers, they have taken thousands of photos to model each car (and track). As an example of the level of detail, a car in Gran Turismo 4 has the same number of polygons as a headlight in Gran Turismo 5: Prologue.

Polyphony works even closer with the automotive industry to make sure that the cars look and drive just as they do in real life. In fact, Kazunori Yamauchi designed the on-board computer for the real Nissan GT-R. If you?re lucky to buy one when it releases, you will notice the Polyphony Digital logo when you start your car.

Gran Turismo 5 Prologue Reviews

So don't expect car damage, and any other 'game immersion' features from other less graphical games. And I think that while the graphics are mind-blowing, the driving experience has not changed at all. Don't pay more than $20 for it though. I agree. Some reviews already point out that the game is pretty much the same as its predecessors, but with a lot more of eye candy. I used to own one of the GT for Playstation 2. Good game for starting your collection for your Playstation 3.

I thought that video games was something for kids and teenagers. The virtual reality is awesome and the game is very easy to use. I found out I was wrong with Playstation 3 and this game.

I've played all versions of Gran Turismo and have very much enjoyed the improvements as the new versions came out. where are all the Toyotas. I miss being able to upgrade and customise each rides, What I also miss are the CARS. cars from the 80s and the 90s.

Like the past games and Forza, this isn't the most true life simulation. Online is buggy to the point of being broken, which is shocking, since the closest competiton to this game (Forza) has released two iterations since GT4 that each offered creative new additions to expand the online modes. This won't shock anyone, but GT Prologue is gorgeous. The game looks great.

The Physics feel the same as GT3 & 4. The best simulation of driving I've seen is still Sega's Ferrari F355 Challenge. Want to win. No damage though, which is unforgivable given the power of the hardware. IMO, Prologue is another word for Beta.

Again, this is unforgivable. There are better options. Online options are sparse and the net code is poor. It gives the game a sterile feel compared to most every other modern racing game. Still, most people don't want that.too much realism can be frustrating, and GT:P offers a decent balance here. This is $40 demo, and just isn't worth the price.

The AI is as good as previous versions of GT, in other words, it's horrendous. Bump your way to the finish line.it's becoming the series trademark.

There are only a few tracks. The load times between garage, dealership, and events are annoying. You do not have even half the cars available. 4 star average and a low price gold box deal usually equal a done deal for me.

The name made me a bit weary with "Prologue" but who really releases demos at full game price. The medal ceremony music is atrocious, and you cannot skip it. I bought this game the last time they had it on sale, and I feel like I was ripped off. You can't switch from first person mode.

I bought it thinking it would be a new, fun installment in the series with all of the other unlockable content and adjustability, but it is not. Don't buy it unless you are a collector and need this ridiculous fraction of a game.
