i had this product for two days and it stopped working. Apparently the harddrive is very fragile and mine stopped working and all the ipod would do is show a red x on the screen and tell me to go to the apple site. I will never get another mp3 player that has a harddrive, only flash memory for me
This case has been everything I've needed. Its been about 8 months and the thing has held up very well and definitely prevented damage to my ipod thus far.
It works. Protect my iPod well. Doesn't limit the backlight capacity. Limits connecting to dock stations and dock having devices but it's easy enough to remove for use. I haven't dropped it yet and I don't plan to but it seems tight and sturdy enough to withstand a decent drop.
This is a great case to protect from scratches and keep the iPod looking new. It does not add very much bulkiness to the iPod itself, and the protection that it offers is worth it. The only problem I had was that I had also ordered a skin to go on my iPod without thinking of the added width, and the case would not fit with both the front and back pieces of the skin. I ended up just putting the front piece on, and it looks great!
This hardshell case comes with 2 backs of varying depths to handle whichever thickness iPod you might have. It fits my 160GB thin iPod great. The fit is snug and secure. There are openings at the top for the headphone jack and the lock switch. The bottom has a large opening that exposes the dock connector, but extends quite a bit wider than just the connector, presumably so that you can keep the case on while still connecting to a variety of docks.
The front of the case is crystal clear. Watching video or navigating the menus through the case is no problem at all. There's a big round opening so that you can use the touch wheel. The back of the case is cloudy (not clear), but still see-through enough that you can read any inscription you might have on your iPod.
My only complaint is that, as snug as this case fits, dust still gets in. Every once in a while I'll pop the case open and wipe everything down, because dust on the screen makes me a little crazy.
