Griffin iTrip Universal FM Transmitter and Charger for MP3 Players
This product is called "auto" because it gets its power from your vehicle's 12 Volt accessory outlet. And it is called "universal" because it works with any portable audio device that has a standard 1/8" headphone jack (including CDs, MP3s, cassettes, and yes, even iPod). Additionally, the "Plus" in this iTrip model is the ability to charge your player by means of a built-in USB port. Plug in your player's USB charge/sync cable, and you get to listen to your tunes while you're traveling, and arrive with a fully-charged player.

Griffin iTrip Universal FM Transmitter and Charger for MP3 Players Reviews
Wasn't a fuse. Had it exchanged, and the new unit has been fine so far. Usable with any device, can select from any frequency on the whole band, can store up to four preset frequencies and powers on automatically when you plug in/turn on lighter socket power/turn on device. I did have a problem with my original unit.power stopped being supplied to the USB port. It has all the features I was looking for. I chose it specifically because it has the USB port, so I can play music all day in the car without running down the battery on my device. Great product. Small, light, and does it's job well.
My only beef is the auto shut-off, which can be maddening for "softer" songs.
It only requires the pressing of one-button to turn back on, so the actual delay depends on how quickly you can hit the button. I recently used it on a long trip and it did just fine, even through some large cities, with only occasional and brief static.
It turns itself off after 30 or so seconds when it doesn't "hear" music. I wish this so-called "feature" could be disabled or the sensitivity adjusted.
That's what's keeping it at 3 stars, not 4. I recommend doing what others have suggested about changing the mode to "INT" to allow access to lower frequencies (87.9, for example).
Works as described, so for the money it's pretty nice.
I like that it has the charging capabilities. The sound quality isn't fabulous but its better than the radio. This item is great for in the car when there is nothing on the radio but commercials.
If I just place it on the passenger seat, the static will get worse. She did say that she had the same problem as me for the first month or so, but then it went away. The music isn't as clear as it could be due to static. I've tried tuning it through many radio stations and I still have this problem.
To minimize static, I have to hang the iTrip over my rear view mirror and my MP3 player dangles from the wire (which could possibly damage the wire or the headphone port on my MP3 player). I mainly got this particular product because my girlfriend has one and it works great for her. I've had some problems with it, as finding a good station to tune it into is hard. It still gets a bit of static even when I do that. I'm not sure what the "magic touch" is, but unless you want to struggle with static, I'd suggest installing a CD/MP3 player into your vehicle rather than paying for this item.
The cd player in my car stopped working, so I bought this item so that I could listen to music in my car with my Phillips GoGear 8GB MP3 player.
Easy to set up and to use. Worked very well on a cross country trip as well as at home in the District of Columbia. Just remember to keep the volume on your iPhone down (around 50%) and adjust the volume to your liking on the car's radio. It kept my iPhone (old version, not 3G) charged and the music playing.
