The HKTS 18 home theater speaker system combines identically voiced, magnetically shielded two-way satellite and center channel speakers with a 10-inch, 200-watt subwoofer for high-performance sound that complements the design of Harman Kardon receivers and DVD players, as well as today's flat-panel video displays. Advanced features include a line-level Sub/LFE input, audio-sense or external-trigger on/off and a multicolor LED power indicator. Wall-mount brackets for the satellites are included. The speaker cables and speakers are all color-coded to conform to the CEA (Consumer Electronics Association) standard, simplifying setup. Movies in 5.1 sound amazingly clear and lifelike. I was looking to setup my home theater system. I was so happy after I heard these. I actually decided to buy the HKTS-18 purely based on reviews here on Amazon.
But the price of Bose speakers is extremely high. The speakers look great too. Good thing is that I can adjust the bass level on the subwoofer with an easy dial, however, I haven't found the need to change it once I have it at my comfort level. However, the subwoofer looks really good so even if it sits in view, it's not a problem.
The subwoofer produces wonderfully deep bass. These speakers produce awesome sound. I was considering buying Bose speakers since my car has Bose audio system and I have always been a fan of the sound of Bose speakers. Music is wonderful as well.
Now I have these wonderful speakers with Onkyo SRS606 receiver and PS3. In fact, the sound from these speakers is as or more crisp, clear and deep as compared to Bose. However, the subwoofer is huge. Thankfully I didn't go for Bose, as I've found great quality at a fraction of the cost.

extreme good sound for a $180 audio quest optical cable out from my PC (playing CD quality music) i had the harmon kardon receiver, very suck interface, and confusing,. but the sound quality is so so great.
To me, five stars should be just about perfect, and the sound is just about perfect. about highest I've turned my receiver up has been -20dB, and I pissed off the people downstairs. Make sure you have a high-quality receiver with your speakers. I love these speakers. I almost gave it four stars because these are literally the worst mounts I've ever seen. Those who think they sound like they're in a tin box either got a bad speaker or a crappy receiver.
They work well with my Denon AVR 1909 receiver. I just wish the flimsy mounts were a little bit better. I will probably upgrade when I move into a bigger place because the receiver can handle more powerful speakers, but for a 16 X 16 room they are wonderful. I don't even have to crank them. However, people flip out whenever someone gives products less than five stars over trivial details, so I'll save you all from having an aneurysm.
First I just want to thank everyone who has submitted a review. For me to get better home theater sound I would have to spend a lot more money which means I'll be hanging on to these HK speakers for a very long time. Transformers on Blu-Ray was incredible. I would never make this purchase without your comments. They look and sound great with my Onkyo TX-SR606 receiver. I owned these speakers for a month now and I could not have been happier with my purchase.[.].These HK speakers fill my 20X20 room with no problems.
Purchased HKTS-18 system on July 30. 10 day runaround from Harmon Kardon to get a replacement. This is insane. Sent me to Amazon who sent me to Harmon Kardon who sent me to some out of state warranty service who sent me back to Harmon Kardon. One satellite speaker died on Sept 10.
