After reading the other reviews, I called Vann's to ask if they were still offering a discount if you were buying 2 sets of stands. Thanks Amazon, Vann's and reviewers. They took $10.00 off of each set.
Usually I prefer to buy through Amazon because their return policy is excellent and I've never had any problems with them. Happily the stands arrived in 3 business days, safely packed and all is well. I took the chance and ordered them directly from Vann's to get the discount since this wasn't an electronic component and I wasn't in any hurry for them.
They are easy to assemble, sturdy and attractive. Bought 2 sets of these stands for our new Harmon Kardon HKTS 18 surround sound speakers. The cleats on the bottom keep them stable on the carpeting, yet I like the fact that we can still move them a little further out or closer in depending on the number of people we have in the room and where they are sitting.
Toyzz charges $199 a pair and $24.99 for shipping with a three week wait. What a HUGE difference. Amazon shows two vendors for this item. Vann's price is $99 a pair and free next day shipping. Check the price thoroughly, with shipping and delivery times, before ordering. Toyzz and Vann's.

The carpet ones are pretty neat little cleats that stick into the carpet to give it even more stability.
The hard floor studs are some little rubber nubs.
All very modern looking.
The base of the stand is made of aluminum it seems, with a high gloss paint job that matches the speakers surprisingly well.

I ordered 4 of these for each of my main channel speakers.
The bases are very heavy and will keep the speakers steady.
It comes with floor studs for either hard wood or carpet.
I do not know if this will continue. Very stable and hides wiring. I noticed that there was a 25% Savings from Vann's if you buy two pair. Really attractive stands and easy to assemble. Great for the HKTS 15's or 18's. I may have just been lucky.
