Get this game, you will NOT be disappointed. All I can say is wow. From start to finish a rock solid game with great visuals and non stop action.
This is by far my favorite PS3 game of all time. You will get attached to the characters. You truly get immersed. There is so much about the game I love. Of course, Nariko kicks major butt and she's not some gratuitously drawn cartoon with ridiculously large bosoms like many of the female protagonists in video games. The acting is top notch, the dialog is superb, the story keeps you interested, the characters are colorful and original, the graphics are stunning, the controls are easy to learn. I played this game twice and it was fun learning more and more of the special combos that Nariko is capable of.
He was so funny. This is a truly outstanding game. My favorite bad guy character was Flying Fox. - it's not just a hack n' slash game for the sake of it.
Almost looks like pre-rendered ray-traced 3D CG animation (it's not) happening on-the-fly as you play. If you have a PS3, this is definitely the game to own to show off its prowess. The details are amazing; hairs flowing as the character runs, the clothes wave as the winds blow, and most impressive is the way light reflects and makes shadows on every object and surface in great detail just amazing. I've never seen a game this beautiful. To top it all off, game play is fast-moving and fun with no boring moments. Background graphics are cinematic and breathtaking.
nice gameplay.still playing so cant comment on the length as most of the ppl talking about. This game is good.i love the few games out there who make so much use of sixaxis feature. But So far so good :)
Interesting use of the hats. You actually spend much more time trying to solve the puzzle of hitting these gongs than you do fighting your enemies. The six axis controler needs to be refined considerably. The voice acting is perfect. for both overal and fun.
Great story line. The scenery and settings are gorgeous. The graphics and colors are second to none. Many times you have to use the cone type hats popular among asian agri-workers as a means of hitting multiple targets great distances apart. Yes. Great voice acting. Most times it is difficult to get your heroine positioned properly to throw hats. Too many "combos" well over 120.
To memorize over 120 combinations. I have never played a video game before that matches this game in use of color. not three. what works for what, etc. Four stars. Case in point, I was in a compound high atop a mountain peak and had to throw a hat probably around half a mile or greater to hit a gong with it bouncing back another half mile or so to hit a gong in the compound where I was at.
Interesting use of the hats. Character control is sub par. Now the bad part. Would I recommend this game to my friends who have the PS3. And although I'm only a couple of hours into the game, the story line so far is truly interesting. by bouncing them off a series of gongs.
We just purchased this game on Friday, July 4th. The camera view while following projectiles is spectacular. not sure if this is a problem with the engineering of the controller or the game itself, since this is the first game I've played so far that makes use of motion detection. really top notch. Six axis control is not what it's hyped up to be in this game. Stunning graphics.
Cons:. Pros:. I DO like the fact that you can do minor mid-course corrections in the trajectory of the hats as it travels out to meet it's target (the camera follows behind the hat as it travels across great spaces to the target gong). which covers all the attacks, defense, stances, etc is more than what many gamers are willing to try to memorize. Character control leaves so very much to be desired during the hat throwing.
and sometimes you have to do it in a specific order. I love it.
