To see why Tom Selleck's movie career has been a constant uphill battle, look no further than this tepid mystery/comedy from 1989. Selleck plays a successful mystery novelist who cures a persistent case of writer's block by visiting the courtroom trial of a young Romanian woman named Nina (played by late '80s supermodel Paulina Porizkova) who has been accused of murder. He supplies the alleged murderer with an alibi--she can claim she was having an affair with him at his Connecticut country home at the time of the murder--and then he brings her to Connecticut to make the alibi look legitimate. Is she in fact a killer? Did she serve poisoned casserole to a group of dinner guests? You'd have to be a major fan of Selleck or Porizkova to want to find out what happens next, because despite a few light moments of engaging comedy this is the kind of nonsensical fluff that quickly wears out its welcome. --Jeff Shannon

Her Alibi Reviews
To me, this was one of Tom Selleck's best! It was mysterious, comical and romantic all in one! I absolutely loved this movie! It was one of those feel-good, fun loving flicks! More movies should be this much fun! Don't miss this one!
"Her Alibi" is a good light comedy. Tom Selleck does a good job of playing the part of a frustrated writer, and the part involving figuring out what killed the cat is good. Good for families.
The Tom Selleck best comedy. In this movie Tom Selleck is a mystery writer that for log time didn't make a hit with his novels because is out of ideas. one day he decides to go to the courthouse to inspiring writing on real cases, in that instants he saw this beautiful woman acused for murder, so he make some kind of deal with the court to take her under his costudy to his house.
The rest is a sum of funny situations that makes a good comedy.
The movie is rated PG.
full screen.
This is a romantic comedy, reminds me of a time where life was simpler... No especial effects... This movie is all about Tom Selleck's acting delivery! A MUST SEE!
Received well ahead of scheduled date but would have preferred a standard blank case instead of an oversized case. Played well!
