HP B8350 Photosmart Pro Photo Printer (Q8492A#ABA) Reviews

It looked like fine-grain photo paper - even under a loop - and produced a nice neutral color. Enjoy. I had no trouble setting it up and printing out a nice test sheet. I was amazed at the results. I did a lot of research to come to this decision, and I hope you can benefit from my efforts. I highly recommend this printer. I just bought the HP Photosmart Pro B8350 printer because it was about the only medium format (13"x 19") printer that takes advantage of HP's gray inkjet cartridges - all for a reasonable price.

Back in the day we used to call it "bad design". The cartridges are not as expensive as some HP printers but they're pretty small and a "brass-bound [.]." to replace. There is a stiff plastic flap in front of the cartridge bay that makes removal and installation quite a challenge. This is a good printer and prints very well and on large formats, well ok, medium formats 13 x 19. It seems to print fast once loaded.

Some large print files take a long time to load. You sort of wonder around the web and hope to find what you want. Others have mentioned some problems with it and I can verify most of them.

And the prints are really good quiality prints, especially on good photo paper. So this is a good printer but very far from perfect. And it's true; HP does not actually support their products at all, they only claim to.

I have experienced lots of paper pickup and jamming problems and though easy to fix they are annoying. If you are good at Chinese puzzles or escaping handcuffs, you should be fine. It seems to be the only purpose of that piece of plastic.

I have reinstalled the drivers I don't know how many times. That was the last straw. Inability to print most documents. Everytime I would call back, a different person would make me reinstall the drivers. I knew it was hopeless to go any farther.

It will print most text documents, but the moment that I try to send a picture or anything of any file size, it blinks at me for a while and then just goes back to normal. I have spent countless hours on the phone with HP over in some other country that does not speak English too well. Until better drivers are released, this printer is not suitable for what it is built to do. Then one of their guys told me that it was a problem with MS Excel. Never spits out my job.

Please Beware. So I have learned my lesson.

Well, i was in the market for a large format printer, just like most of you. What a deal and what a great product. Unfortunately, Bestbuy did not carry it. And i have owned quite a few.

Thanx HP. here on Amazon and wanted to see if my buddy at Bestbuy can get a deal on it. Well, obviously i read all reviews bad and good and learned to download directly from the HP site so i did. cfxpaintworks.com Everything worked.

I ordered one because of the awesome price and was excited. HP was my first choice of printers, but the ones i have found was not in my price range.until now. I started with a test page off of notepad and 8.5x11 and printed perfectly. I plugged the power in, plugged the USB cord in, installed the VISTA 64 drivers(yes, im running Vista 64)and BAM. So, with all the horror stories in the past, it looks like HP fixed all issues.even if you are running Vista 64. He did, however recommend this from HP. I then opened up Photoshop Cs2 and printed up an 11x17 poster of my artwork in FULL COLOR with the supplied photo paper.

Charlie B. Let me just say.It is the best inkjet printer i have ever owned. Then i started reading all the horror stories about the drivers and it not working and dealing with non English speaking tech guys. I actually found a Brother printer for $[.].

c:Windowssystem32spooldriversw32x863UNIDRV.DLL. After doing these two things and rebooting, the printer now works and I don't have to toss is out the window as I was inclined to before this fix. This printer did not work for me at first either. Bottom line - I have a working printer now but it should not have taken so much effort to get it working.

2) Replace 2 dll files as stated on HP user forums:. Two fixes mentioned in earlier reviews saved the day. No mention of this apparently common problem. I had to install the drivers from HP's website.

Two Windows DLL were replaced ( maybe by Office 2007 or Visio 2007 ). I have copied back the original files from c:WindowsDriver Cachei386sp2.cab. c:Windowssystem32spooldriversw32x863UNIDRVUI.DLL. It would only print plain paper in default mode.

1) The software that shipped was no good. I was on the phone with someone who spoke very broken English troubleshooting for 4 hours. HP tech support was no help. This were the files:.
