It is a basic unit but performs well.Less expensive to ink than Del 's unit.
I had a 3100 model previously that worked great, but didn't want to pack it for a long move back to the US (transatlantic) it so I bought this from Target as a replacement. I have this attached by USB to my Apple Time Capsule for wireless printing in my apartment via two Macbooks. Setup was a cinch (identical to previous setup via Airport Express)... only about 20 mins with cartridge alignment, etc. Haven't scanned much with it, but I am satisfied with the output. Photocopy capabilities is always a handy feature for quick duplicates. Almost went for the higher-end model with fax, but decided on an online fax service instead [...] and very happy with everything. I probably print more than average so I go through cartridges often... the black much more than the color. Always top up with the 60 XL for more mileage. Also, I get decent results from refilled carts from [...] which are half the price of OEM. So, overall, a great and great looking, Mac-friendly, all-in-one, inkjet printer perfect for students or small home offices. Been using HP printers with PCs and Macs since the mid-90s and never had any complaints (other than cost of ink, but that is a universal con of all printers).
Simple to set up and to use but best of all it performs really great. The only thing I don't like is that when you insert new ink cartridges it automatically prints out a test sheet, which uses a lot of ink. But overall I would recommend this printer to anyone wanting basic printing, scanning or copying.

I'm a college student, so this printer got boxed back up at the end of the school year. I took it back out again after the summer, but it hasn't worked since. Definitely not durable--it lasted for just about a year of light use (and it printed just fine when it was working), which to me isn't good enough.
