I mean like 6 minutes per scan. Using higher DPI or editing while scanning makes copying very slow. The G4010 works well in default mode. Only buy if you dont need editing before saving pictures.
This is the slowest, clumsiest peace of junk I have ever bought. Beware of all the so-called ease of use claims. How do I get my money back on this thing. I expected much more for the money.
I had a problem when I installed the program, but it works. Once you had a problem with installation, it never works even after re-installation. It it is other language, you'd better make it English not to have any error while installing the scanner program. Otherwise, you may use a default scanner program of Windows XP. If you installed another language already on your computer, you need to check the language version of the non-unicode program. I had to install it on another computer.
Called support and they said it was a hardware malfunction. It all started well and the scanner actually produced pretty good results. Wouldn't recommend it. But then, after three days of moderate use, it died. Nothing. I used this scanner on a Mac G5 with Leopard. Tried different cables, rebooting, cleaning preferences, etc. The scanner did turn on, but the cover buttons were not working and the system didn't recognize it.
Easy to hook up & learn how to use. Very happy with product. Needed a new scanner as my old one would not work with new computer running 64 bit vista. Price was right & as always shipping was fast at Amazon. If you are looking for a stand alone scanner at a good price I would suggest you give this model a look.
