HP HD5000S Personal Media Drive 500 GB USB 2.0 External Hard Drive Reviews
This product is over priced, but there are no alternatives if you want to mount the drive in the built in bay of some HP desktops. Warranty is also shorter than other similar products. If you don't mind using a USB cable and a power cord, there are any number of cheaper alternatives available.
The drive was easy to connect, and worked well at first. I am forced to only use it for a short period at a time, so that it will not overheat. If used only to ferry information from one computer to another, it probably would be a good product. When left conneted to the computer, it overheats and makes a noise.
If you have a HP computer that this device works in, it's a great way to get a back-up drive that doesn't take up space outside the computer.
Works just as good as advertised. I was able to back everything up with no problems.
Just slides in and works with no problems. They're a little hard to find in the normal electronic box stores so you can't beat Amazon. I knew going in that I could find a normal external hard drive for less but if you have a HP that has the personal media drive bay, this is the way to go.
