HP iPAQ 111 Classic Handheld (FA979AA#ABA) Reviews
Suz I don't find the sync to work as smoothly and I also had to add memory to speed the processing, other than that, I'm very pleased. Am enjoying my new iPAQ, previously had a Toshiba and and having a little problem getting use to the updated windows software.
I can't thank you enough. Will definitely do business again in the future. I received the item promptly and it was in great condition.
I haven't had this issue as the power button is at the far top and the record button is at the far bottom. I've set appointments, set tasks and set a wakeup alarm- easier than setting my clock and more organized than the business cards with notes jotted on the back. If not, I'll just stop holding the unit awkwardly. I don't have Outlook on my Vista OS so I can't take advantage of syncing to my laptop, but it doesn't much matter as I've never used Outlook nor the Windows Mail and Windows Calendar that came with Vista. Sometimes when I use the stylus, if I'm holding the unit awkwardly, I'll accidentally hit the email button but I think there's an option of turning those buttons off. No problems there. I've set it up to send and receive from two email accounts- one internet based and the other through my ISP. I've been using mine for three days now and have used almost every feature except for the bluetooth.
The good reviews are accurate and the few bad reviews are mostly vague and unspecific, focusing on stylus replacements and not much on performance.
After researching PDAs for years now, sometimes on the verge of buying one only to give in to my inner Luddite and running out for another paper planner, I finally bit the bullet and bought the iPAQ 111 Classic Handheld.
Plus, you have to tap the "record" button on the screen as well to make it start recording.
I've downloaded a couple of programs to it from Handango with ease.
I'm in for a long evening of entering contacts manually but I've got a bottle of wine opened.
There have been reviewers who tend to mistake the power button for the record button on the right side of the device and one claims to have recorded himself unknowingly.
I may end up getting him one for Christmas or as a wedding present.
For me, it's a great product and my fiance likes it too.
Apparently, this is a new development. It will not sync with Outlook on your desktop. I chose this HP iPaq 111 after years of using Palm products. The iPaq is much more cumbersome to enter dates in. Regrettably, good reports were exaggerated. I heard very good things about it. What a colossal disappointment. If you value having a back up and entering data on the desktop, this is not the product for you.
So much more "tweakable" than an itouch with all the features you will love. I love this thing. It has everything I need to get going, my Outlook files are perfectly synchronized and i can use just like my desktop. I also have a backup of all my frequently accessed files from my PC. I added a 16Gb SDHC card and edited the registry to direct my mail to be stored on it, FANTASTIC, now I have a copy of ALL my mails in its original folder structures. HP iPAQ 111 Classic Handheld (FA979AA#ABA). This is my first pocket PC. I bought this at Amazon, quick delivery and amazingly easy to setup.
