HP W2408H 24-inch Widescreen LCD Monitor Reviews

I've had a 19 inch Samsung lcd for about 4 years with no problems so I'm going to stick with Samsung monitors from now on. Samsung's warranty is three years by the way. Since HP only warranties their monitors for one year I'm out of luck unless I want to pay HP $374.99 to fix it. The articulating arm on the HP is a nice feature but useless when the monitor won't power on. No thank you. I bought the 25 inch Samsung to replace it and so far so good. Mine died one year and 18 days after I bought it.

I have minor vision problems, so I usually have to reduce the resolution on the displays I use so that objects and text appear larger. Initially I assumed that I would have to adjust down the resolution, but quickly found that images and text were so incredibly clear that I could actually see them just fine at the highest resolution setting. I had no idea how poor the quality was on my old Gateway 24" flat panel until it died without warning (just after the warranty expired, of course) and I replaced it with this awesome unit. When I installed this monitor, it defaulted to its highest possible resolution (meaning objects and text appeared small).

Other than that it will be a good monitor I don't normally like to leave reviews but I think it's worth leave a good review for a well built monitor. The picture is crispy clear and the contrast is prefect for picture editing. The only reason I give it a 4 star is because it doesn't have DVI input I have to buy a cable that convert from HDMI to DVI.

I am simply using this to extend my laptop screen when I work from home so I could stop cycling through windows to get my work done. The only thing that I haven't liked about this monitor is that it's made my laptop screen hard to work with since it's so small and dull in comparison. Setting up and using this monitor was very simple.

I do wish the monitor could be adjusted more vertically but fore the most part the price was very reasonable compared to others. I like the size of the monitor. The high definition is adequate but can use some fine tunning.
